Consumer electronics major LG ventures into ceiling fan segment in Indian mkt

LG, the South Korean consumer electronics major, has entered the ceiling fan segment in the Indian market. This is in line with its efforts to strengthen presence in the home appliances and air solutions category in the country.

The company has further launched portable mini air purifier and water purifier with a stainless steel water tank in India.

Sejoon Park, LG Professional RAC Aircare - Overseas Sales & Marketing, said, "These ceiling fans are developed based on Indian insight. We are very hopeful of positive consumer response."

Priced at Rs 13,990, the premium range of five fans will be introduced across the country soon. The fans will be manufactured at LG India's plant at Greater Noida.

The Wi-fi enabled fan is compatible with the latest technologies like Amazon's Alexa and Google Assistant. It is also equipped with its IoT platform LG SmartThinQ, allowing users to control remotely via mobile phones.

Last year, LG had announced that it would foray into the premium fan segment in India.

LG will also unveil on-the-go Puricare Mini Air purifier by August 2019. Puricare Mini Air purifier is priced at Rs 15,990. It weighs 530 gm and can easily fit in the glass holder of a car or to be carried in arms.

Apart from this, the company has introduced seven new models of its RO water purifiers in the country featuring a stainless steel storage tank.
