FreeCharge's Wallet on Delivery helps people fight cash crisis

The demonetisation of higher currency notes in India has proved to be curse for many but at the same time, it has been proved to be boon for e-commerce conglomerates.

After being denied to pay cash on delivery by a number of companies, FreeCharge and Snapdeal came up with 'Wallet on Delivery' (WoD) and provided a floating twig to the drowning ant.

Freecharge WoD has turned savior during this cash crunch hour, when people are in dire need of cash.

With the introduction of the new Rs. 2000 notes, it is quite difficult for people to buy things, which merely cost in hundreds. thus in FreeCharge's WoD, if the delivered products costs less than Rs. 2000 and in case the delivery boy doesnot have enough change to pass on to the customer then the amount left after deducting the price of the product, goes directly to FreeCharge's wallet. So that the customer can use the money saved in the wallet.

As per reports published in ET, Govind Rajan, CEO, FreeCharge, said, "With the higher denomination currency notes no longer usable, thousands of e-commerce users across India had the choice to either delay acceptance of their packets in transit or cancel the order. We are delighted to have implemented these practical solutions in real time."
