Snapdeal launches more than 120 fashion brands on its platform

One of the e-commerce major of the country, Snapdeal has announced launching of more than 120 fashion brands on its platform, which is part of the company’s fashion portfolio expansion, the company said in a statement.

With the inclusion of these brands, the company said they are focusing on building its fashion vertical more prominently. For the purpose, Snapdeal said, they have partnered with fashion brands including United Colors of Benetton, Puma, Nautica, U.S Polo Association and Steve Madden etc.

Fashion contributes to 40 percent of Snapdeal’s sales volumes and has grown by a year-on-year growth of 50% with majority of the growth fuelled by Tier I and II cities, the company said.

Key beneficiaries of this growth include categories such as branded sports footwear that has grown in its contribution by 75 percent year-on-year, followed by women’s clothing growing by 60%, Snapdeal said.
