Synthite Group to tap Gulf market for spices and masalas

FMCG division of Rs 1,400 crore worth Synthite Group is all set to venture into the Gulf market with a wide range of spices and masalas, says a PTI report.

Commenting on the development, Managing Director of Synthite Group, George Paul said: ‘The FMCG division forayed six months back with the Kitchen Treasures range, and is further planning to enter the Gulf markets in February. Also, the curry powder and masalas market in the Gulf region is estimated to have a volume of Rs 200 crore, with the UAE market alone accounting for nearly half of that."

The company is planning to offer about 25 products to the Gulf, including two non-vegetarian pickles, said Kitchen Treasures CEO Ashok Mani.

Mani said, the company would also offer some Arabic masalas and focus on the domestic and Middle-East markets in the seasonings segment.

To ensure the crop or produce is least affected by pesticides, the firm takes contract farming route, training farmers about the appropriate practices in agriculture, chilli farming to be specific.
