Florista Ties Up with CCD to Open Shop-In-Shop Flower Retailing Outlets

In a strategic tie-up, Florista, one of India’s leading flower retailers, and India’s home-grown coffee chain Café Coffee Day (CCD) have partnered to open shop-in-shop flower kiosks in CCD outlets across India.

CCD is the pioneer of coffee culture in India with 500 outlets nestled in prominent locations across the country and Florista has an established network of quality florists delivering in 300 cities of India and over 100 countries worldwide.

The collaboration will see Florista kiosks come up outside select CCD large format cafes in a shop-in-shop format. The partnership will work on a revenue-sharing model and will be piloted across 20+ outlets in Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Baroda, Surat, Bengaluru, and Delhi in the first year and later to be expanded across 100 outlets. Florista will provide a compact and attractive outdoor floral kiosk, trained manpower, and business know-how to its franchise partners looking for low investment opportunities.

The partnership comes at a time when, due to the pandemic, many have lost jobs and are looking for a regular source of income. A lot of enterprising individuals are now considering low-cost new business opportunities instead of taking up a full-time job.

With the lockdown becoming relaxed, people are beginning to move out to spend ‘we time’ with family, friends, and colleagues. With Florista kiosks outside CCD outlets, it is likely to attract walk-in customers triggering impulse purchases. Additionally, the franchisees can service floral requirements of events, weddings, or home décor in the catchment area.

Speaking on the partnership, Vinay A Bhopatkar, CEO of Cafe Coffee Day, said, “At Cafe Coffee Day, we truly believe that coffee and conversations are our way of fostering human connections. And we feel that collaborating with Florista, a brand that highly complements our offerings is a natural fit. Opening up our spaces for the retail of fresh flowers by a renowned brand such as Florista will only give our customers more avenues to express their care for loved ones. This partnership brings together the right synergies to offer our consumers another reason to share a great cup of coffee, and a little joy as well.”

Speaking on the alliance, Smriti Shetty Dalvi, MD & CEO, Florista India, added, “Through this collaboration and our franchisee model, we are trying to offer a low investment business opportunity to enterprising individuals. The key eligibility criteria for becoming a Florista franchisee is an entrepreneurial mindset and love for flowers. The prominent location of CCD cafes will help our franchisees get a flying start.”

This alliance of a coffee shop and flower shop will create fresh experiences for people beyond coffee and conversation.
