Tetra Pak, one of the largest food packaging and process companies in Pune, Maharastra has been awarded with Platinum Certification for green factory building by the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC).
Speaking on the certification, Kandarp Singh, MD, Tetra Pak South Asia Markets, said, "Driving environmental excellence is a strategic priority at Tetra Pak. The Chakan facility is an example of generating sustainable growth for customers with minimum environmental impact."
The company which started its operation in 2012 has become the first facility for Tetra Pak to receive a LEED-equivalent certification. The certification was based on an assessment of the site in six categories - sustainable site, water conservation, energy conservation, indoor environmental quality, material conservation and innovation where Tetra Pak received all the 81 credits they have applied for.
