A recent report by Redseer Strategy Consulting states that Flipkart Group, together with Myntra, Shopsy, and many others, maintains its leadership position, while Meesho is the second-largest contributor in volume order.
It further states that the Flipkart Group maintains its leadership position, while Meesho is the second largest contributor in order volume, according to Redseer.
“Flipkart Group (Flipkart, Myntra, and Shopsy) continues to maintain its leadership position with 62 percent market share in GMV during the Festive Sale Week 1. In terms of order volumes, Meesho, with its low average order value and high penetration in Tier II cities, emerged as the second largest player capturing around 21 percent of the market share while Flipkart Group leads here as well,” said Sanjay Kothari, Associate Partner, Redseer Strategy Consultants.
However, as per the e-commerce website Amazon, its Great Indian Festival received the highest number of orders in the first 12 days.
According to the statement shared by Amazon to Indianretailer.com, it witnessed 8X sales in comparison to average business days, within 48 hours of the sale going live.
“This response is reflected across all categories and we have overall seen a substantial increase in visitors’ vs 2021. Our seller community received significantly more orders compared to last year and are humbled by the response from customers and are grateful to our sellers and brand partners. We are excited about the sustained momentum in our month long Great Indian Festival that will help sellers, brands and customers find celebrations during the festive period,” Amazon said in a statement.
It further added, “Amazon India remains obsessed with offering the best online shopping experience to our customers and enabling our sellers to provide the widest selection at great value across all serviceable pin codes of the country.”
