Lakme Salon Expands Product Portfolio with BENEATH

Lakmé Salon has launched the hair and makeup collection – BENEATH - in collaboration with ace designer Vaishali S, at the latest edition of Lakmé Fashion Week X FDCI in partnership with FDCI.

A continuation of Vaishali’s signature style, the collection showcases wearable art, meticulously-recreating elements of nature through textures, fabrics, and unconventional silhouettes, while keeping in touch with the heritage weaving traditions of India. The hair and makeup were designed and curated to not only complement the designer’s vision but also as an extension of this marvelous collection. The looks designed by the experts at Lakmé Salon draw inspiration from various elements from the ocean - Conch, Coral, Kelp, Octopus, and Wave.

A haircut and color collection inspired by the BENEATH show will be available at 470+ Lakmé Salons across the country over a span of three weeks.

Pushkaraj Shenai, CEO and Wholetime Director, Lakmé Lever` said, “For 23 years in a row, Lakmé Salon has been in the business of beautifying the country by making fashion from the runways of Lakmé Fashion Week accessible to our consumers. As part of our larger endeavor to Beautify the Future, we at Lakmé Salon have sustainably created the outstanding ‘BENEATH’ collection. Bringing sustainability to the forefront, each look in the BENEATH collection has been carefully designed by National Creative Directors and the Backstage Heroes at Lakmé Salon and Academy to bring alive Vaishali S’ wearable art designs. When it comes to sustainability, we at Lakmé Salon believe in walking the talk and have used real hair, recycled hair extensions along with eco-friendly colors derived from Ayurvedic ingredients to create the looks. The cut and color collection were designed as an extension of Vaishali S’ trailblazing designs. Vaishali S’ passion for sustainability and her signature style, made her the perfect partner to launch this collection. We look forward to bringing these looks to our consumers to sport in their everyday lives.

Ace Designer Vaishali S added, “I have always followed my own instincts when it comes to my work, which has enabled me to carve my own niche in the industry. Showcasing 3 consecutive years at Paris Haute Couture Week has been a scary but very rewarding leap of fate but I am glad to say that this eventually propelled the brand to another level and made me discover other levels of creativity and workmanship. This collection depicts my discovery of the underwater world and also myself by diving into the unknown. The looks curated and designed by the team at Lakmé Salon aligned with my vision for the collection and became an extension of each outfit. Watching the Lakmé Salon team bring alive the looks with the hair and makeup and accentuated the final designs. I look forward to seeing the salon consumers experimenting with and sporting these looks.

Pooja Singh, National Creative Director, Hair, Lakmé Salon, said, “Lakmé Salon has created 5 looks, as a tribute to the underwater elements like theWave, Octopus, Conch, Coral, and Kelp. The hair was designed to be an extension of Vaishali’s designs. Staying true to our brand’s goal, we have mindfully steered away from plastic accessories and used natural hair to recreate the various elements from nature. The team of Lakmé Salon Backstage Experts have integrated minute details like picking the exact colours of the elements, playing with textures and even using gravity defying techniquesto enhance the beauty of the final look. These hairstyles can easily be replicated in our salons by our experts for our customers.
