Tarun Tahiliani Launches Flagship Boutique in Bengaluru

Designer Tarun Tahiliani launched his label’s flagship Bengaluru boutique, at the heart of the city’s verdant central business district in a restored heritage mansion – the Woodlands Mansion.

He has collaborated with Bengaluru’s distinguished Vinita Chaitanya to learn the art of simple, elegant, and sensitive restoration of the structure.

A tribute to Tarun Tahiliani's signature ‘India Modern’ design philosophy, the new boutique in Bangalore features original tiled floors, stone mosaics, handmade carpets, and a ‘Tree of Life’ wall, featuring embroideries that represent the finesse of the ateliers’ style.

For the Saturday launch, Tarun planned a colossal LED screen streaming a brand ‘stream-of-consciousness’ video. Placed in front, were the dancers and models, forming moving installations in an inimitable TT ‘India Modern’ flow. Additionally, the percussionists and dancers swirled in an animated jugalbandhi of harmony to Ma Faiza’s emotional and moving tracks that she had compèred for Tarun’s 25th-anniversary brand video.

In addition, four master craftsmen showcased live, the techniques behind the creation of various Tarun Tahiliani brand pillars within the boutique – chikankari, zardozi on the frame, the fine art of draping, and the soldering techniques used in the label’s high-fashion; each an education in itself and a joy to watch.

The entire range of Tarun Tahiliani products for both men and women – including couture, ready-to-wear, occasion-wear, accessories, jewelry, and heritage textiles – were showcased and were available for engagement and touch across the multiple salons of the sprawling 4,500 sq. ft. mansion.

“Sample the range and breadth of the collections – each in its own dedicated space, to be viewed by itself – drapes, the fashion collections, the menswear room, and of course, the SARIBAR, and accessories room. At the center of all this is the courtyard, wrapped by a painted banyan, with motifs from our embroidery studios. This is the couture/bridal core of the brand,” said Tarun Tahiliani, Designer.

He further added, “It is a delight to be in Bangalore at last and the tree in the aangan of the store is symbolic of the garden city, with its diverse energy. Home to so much textile heritage, technology, heralding a new age of style and a modern way of life.”

The boutique in Bengaluru is the brand’s newest store in the country and adds to the label’s list of other stores, which are located in Mumbai, New Delhi, Hyderabad, and Kolkata.
