Swiggy to take Dunzo head-on by entering hyperlocal logistics space

Swiggy will soon enter the hyperlocal logistics space by launching Swiggy Go. The new vertical is likely to start in Gurugram from mid-August. The Naspers-backed company has already hired more than 30 key and mid-level employees to drive Swiggy Go.

Swiggy Go will be a service akin to dunzo, moving parcels from one point to another. Unlike dunzo that moves many things including food and groceries from one point to another, the new vertical will solely be focusing on moving parcels such as documents and perform several other errands.

After completing the pilot in Gurugram, Swiggy Go will be launched in Bengaluru.

Swiggy Go will take dunzo head-on with this new vertical.

Sources said, “Whenever Swiggy Go would kick-off operations, dunzo will witness intense competition on all fronts. So far, the Google-backed firm was the only consumer-facing hyperlocal logistics firm.”

Initially, Swiggy Go will focus on moving C2C (consumer to consumer) parcels. However, it will also foray into ferrying B2B consignments inside a particular city.

Recently, Dunzo launched ‘Checkout with Dunzo’, a new B2B logistics service for retailers and small business owners.
