The Orchid Mumbai, the pioneering environmentally-sensitive 5-star hotel chain in Asia, has appointed Shubhamoy Banerjee as the General Manager of its flagship property, The Orchid Mumbai.

 

With 372 keys, this iconic hotel has been setting the standard for its impeccable hospitality along with sustainability initiatives.

 

Shubhamoy Banerjee comes with a rich history of successfully leading flagship hotels and resorts both in India and overseas. With a distinguished career marked by excellence, Shubhamoy's expertise lies in building high-performing teams, implementing best practices, and driving operational efficiency. His track record includes crafting personalized experiences and lasting memories for guests.

 

In his most recent role, he co-founded Saivas Hospitality in Bangalore. Prior to that, he served as the General Manager of the Sterling Kodai Lake, a flagship property of Sterling Resorts, and the General Manager of Holiday Inn Express Whitefield Bengaluru under the Intercontinental Hotel Groups.

 

In his new role as the General Manager of The Orchid Mumbai, Shubhamoy is poised to enhance operational efficiency and uphold the legendary warmth that defines the hotel's reputation.

 

Apart from his professional achievements, Shubhamoy is known for his passion for numismatics, proficiency in foreign languages, and a deep appreciation for diverse cuisines. He firmly believes that everything is built twice – first in the mind and then in reality.

 

"It's a homecoming for me, having previously served as the Food & Beverage Manager in 2016-2017. Kamat Hotel India Ltd boasts a rich 25-year legacy in domestic hospitality. The Orchid Mumbai, under the visionary guidance of our Chairman Dr. Vithal Venkatesh Kamat, became Asia's first Ecotel Certified 5 Star Hotel in 1997, pioneering the Ecotel concept. Since then, KHIL has experienced remarkable growth,” he added.
