Jewelry brands across the country are experiencing a surge in the purchase of gold and silver ornaments inspired by Lord Ram and the Ramayana. From Ram Temple coins to Ramayana-inspired jewelry, the increase in demand is expected to continue for the next few weeks.
Gold prices are hovering at over Rs 63,000 per 10 grams, while the rate of silver remains at Rs 71,500 per kilogram at the retail level. However, these rates have not dampened the spirit of festival buying. The demand for silver Charan Paduka, turtle, and baby Kada, which are offered to Lord Rama, has picked up in the past week.
