DHX Media, one of the world’s leading pure-play children’s content companies, has extended more than three-dozen of its kids’ series to India while inking a licensing agreement with Amazon Prime Video for its subscription-video-on-demand (SVOD) service in India.
DHX Media titles licensed by Amazon Prime India include evergreen shows like Caillou, Inspector Gadget and Strawberry Shortcake along with hits such as Johnny Test, Kid vs Kat etc.
This agreement follows a vast offering of DHX Media content already available through Amazon Prime video in other territories across the globe.
Commenting on the agreement, Thom Chapman, Territory Manager, DHX Media said, “This volume deal highlights the scale of our library. With Amazon Prime Video taking up our programming for the emerging SVOD market in India, we are boosting our international presence and underscoring our reputation as a trusted ‘go-to’ distributor of quality kids’ content.”
Last year, Amazon bagged licensing rights to DHX Media original series Looped, exclusively for its members in the US as well as adding library content to the US Prime Video catalogue.
In the UK and Germany, more than three-dozen DHX Media kids’ shows are available including Teletubbies, Messy Goes to Okido and Hank Zipzer.
