Boom in luxury furnture sales

It  has been  almost  two years  since Italian luxury furniture brand Visionnaire  launched  its operations in the country via International Furniture Brands, which successfully operates a  5,000 sq ft outlet  in Delhi. In a conversation, Eleonore Cavalli, Creative Director, Visionnaire India,highlighted their growth plans.

 

Kindly throw light on your operations in the country over the past few years, and the key trends you have observed?

 

Our brand has received a very strong feedback from consumers here, with familiies in the upper middle class segment increasingly purchasing Italian furnishing-related products. This, in turn, has helped to grow our sales by 10 per cent on a year-on-year, and to leverage the emerging opportunities, we are expanding our distribution network.

 

We are currently present in Mumbai, New Delhi and Bangalore.

 

Consumer preferences in India are quite different from those in Europe. What is your localisation strategy?

 

No doubt, consumer preferences differ from one country to another, but we offer products made exclusively by our skilled craftsmen in Italy. Our products are popular with senior executives and businessman who travel to Italy, and it helps to ensure strong demand at the outlets here.

 

 

What is your marketing strategy, in a bid to quickly grow your sales?

 

Our brand is positioned globally for its high quality and bespoke capabilities via a network of high-end distributors, partneship; with luxury real estate developers and leading interior designers and architects. In addition, we also spread awareness through campaigns from time-to-time.

 

 

The luxury segment is booming in the country, and what are your expansion plans to leverage this opportunity?

   

Yes, consumers are very well aware of luxury products and families are also placing greater emphasis on home decor solutions from overseas. And, to leverage the opportunities, we plan to open exclusive stores in Delhi and Mumbai as well as undertake a greater number of turnkey projects for high-end apartments and villas.
