Study By Janak has carved its niche with its range of customised products for menswear. In a candid conversation, Manoj Mehra, Group CMD, Study By Janak, highlighted their mantra for growth.

Kindly throw light on current consumer trends for fashion and accessory categories?

Consumers are increasingly recognising the importance of high quality products. And, when we commenced operations, there weren’t too many retail brands for men, but mainly designers and experienced darzis, and we have attempted to ensure a balance between customised tailoring and customer experience.

What is the USP of your brand? 

We offer products that cater to local customer tastes and requirements, along with customisation.

 

Please elaborate on your distribution network and strategy for expanding your customer base?

We have five exclusive multi-brand outlets in the northern region, as well as a presence via multi-brand outlets. And, nearly half of new clients are through word of mouth.

Your operations are mainly centred on the northern region, and are there plans to reach a pan India presence?

Over the past 27 years of our operations, we have focused on delivering a similar experience to our brands across our stores. And, each store is focused on meeting needs of customers in the vicinity, which includes products offered and pricing.

What are your growth plans?

We keen on further expanding in the northern region, and plan to launch a store of 30,000 – 50, 000 sq ft, shortly.

In your retail network, do you prefer malls or high streets for expansion?

I would like to highlight that high streets enable us to easily reach a wide range of high-end consumers.

Any plan to go overseas?

No, immediate plans, but we are serving overseas customers via our e-commerce operations
