How do you see the market of organic products is growing in India? Can you state few numbers to quantify the same?

The consumer in India are increasingly becoming aware  of the benefits of buying natural, healthy and safe goods and produce. With print, electronic media reporting incidences of food adulteration has made the consumer more aware of the choices they make with regards to their food. On the other hand, the consumer has become more informed and is making conscious purchase with regard to what to buy, the purchasing power has also substantially grown which has made them switch to organics to live healthy. E-commerce has been the key factor behind the recent burst of growth in the organic sector making organic products available to all anywhere in the country.  

The market for organic products has seen a growth of 30 to 40 % this financial year domestically. Organic food alone made up for 60 percent of the total food and non food organic exports from India. Previously the domestic market branded as niche is fast catching up.

How many categories you are retailing on your e-commerce site  organicshop.in? And, which category is turning out to be best seller for you?

We are currently the online market place for 6 broad category of Organic products like- Organic Food, Organic health & wellness, Organic Beauty care, Organic Clothing, Organic Baby & kids & Organic home & garden categories which are further divided into various sub categories. We aim to serve all organic lifestyle products under one single roof.

We have multiple category range which are highest selling organic food and health & wellness are most in demand followed by beauty care, home & garden, baby & clothing.

What new categories you are planning to add in future

In future we would extend our product range to home appliances that are eco- friendly and also import organic brands in a host of products from across the globe.

Averagely, how many orders you get on daily basis? As of now, how many pin codes you are serving?

On an average per day we have 50-60 orders per day from across the globe. Currently we serve 15,000 pincodes  in India and also 200 plus countries across the globe.

What is the USP of you e-commerce portal?

Our USP is summed up in 3 C’s that is Certified, Choice & Convenience where by Organic Shop allows you to choose organic products from a range of certified organic brands at your convenience anytime. 

How you are managing your supply chain? Do you have in-house team or the service has been out sourced to third party?

We work on a market place model where the products are shipped to the respective customers by the vendors while we have an in- house team which manages and processes the orders, ensures that the orders are fulfilled on time. They also work on customer management and manage smooth interaction between all.

Whom do you see as your competition?

There are few organized online marketplaces in India as most are localized and limited by the product line. Whereas, we are more organized in terms of our system, supply chain, vendors and customer base. Therefore we do not see ourselves in competition with anyone as such but we believe we have lots to learn from people who are working extensively towards the growth of organic industry. We would want to constantly improve ourselves in terms of our products and services to our customers.

What is your average ticket size and bill size?

Our average ticket size is INR 1,000

What sort of security features you have deployed for secure transactions?

We have tied up with payment gateways like EBS & Paytm as our payment gateways for Pan- Indian and the financial transactions are on their secure server. While for global orders we use PayPal, most secure and widely used payment gateway globally for our global transactions.

Kindly highlight you growth plans for next two years?

The year 2016 has been a momentous one for us.  Organic Shop has diversified itself with the launch of its private label- Tantav. Tantav is a GOTS certified  100% organic cotton luxury bedding brand. It will be the first ever textile brand from India to go global and ship its exquisite textile range in 200 countries for free. We have been relentlessly working towards taking the organics industry to the next notch by spreading awareness about leading an organically healthy lifestyle, these efforts from our end took shape of Organic Insights (http//:organicinsights.in), a dedicated blog to leading an Organic lifestyle which tries to cover all realms of lifestyle in order to help you discover a happy, healthier you.  

Apart from this we are working towards expansion of Organic Shop while continually improving our service to serve our customers better with quality certified organic products.
