My family and friends are closest to me. They are my first priority. Even the staff at my office is like my extended family.

Various facets of your career

My profession requires me to don multiple hats. When it comes to pushing the volumes and meeting the business targets, I am required to be a good salesman. Sometimes I am also expected to be like a big brother and manage the human resource at office. I play all these roles with élan.   

View on Indian retail sector

It’s growing at a rapid pace. Apart from the large Indian businesses like Tata and Birla venturing retail, the big international players like Wal-Mart and Spencer’s too have jumped on the bandwagon. The disposable income of the Indian population, not just in metros but in B and C class cities too, has impressively increased in the past few years and this has given a huge impetus to retail. People love visiting malls and shopping to their heart’s content.   

Life’s turning point

I am yet to reach that point in life! 

Favourite outdoor activity

I love to go on long and solitary walks. Besides helping in fitness, it enables me to concentrate on issues that I wish to address in life and in business. 

Your last vacation

Last year, I visited my home town in Japan and believe me, it was better than visiting any other international holiday destinations. There’s nothing better, in this world, than sweet home.

My most recent purchase includes a plasma television, a DVD player and surround-sound speaker system.

Your favorite restaurant and your most relished dish

I love the Kababs at Moti Mahal Deluxe. It is one of my favourite Indian restaurants because it offers authentic Mughlai cuisine from across North India and the neighbouring countries.

One thing you would like to change about yourself

Though I travel a lot, I am a little hesitant to try out different cuisines of the world. I certainly do not want to miss out on them so I need to work on this aspect of mine.
