Planet M is the largest entertainment retailer in the country and the fastest growing telecom retailer in the country. This retail brand is a part of the $ 5 billion Videocon group. Planet M attracts over 4.5 lakh customers every month. The retail brand is celebrating 10 years and positioned as one of the premium retail outlets in India.  A large number of offerings are there from Planet M’s basket which includes telecom, comprised of mobile phones, re-charge vouchers, mobile accessories; entertainment, that is, music, movies, gaming, digital hardware & accessories; hardware comprising gaming consoles, I-Pods, MP3 players, DVD player, home-theatre system and DTH;  lifestyle, which consists of apparels, eyewear, watches, books & fashion accessories; and cafes. There are 250 outlets of Planet M pan India. The stores are divided into 3 formats - mega store (2500 sq ft & above), super store (1000 sq ft & above) and neighbourhood store (300-600 sq ft). In the current fiscal Planet M has registered a turnover of Rs 300 crore. The company is growing at 35 per cent year-on-year basis. The plan is afoot to increase the number of outlets from 250 to 500 by 2011.
