Dabur India conducts raids and seizes spurious products

Dabur India Ltd conducted raids in counterfeit products manufacturing units in West Bengal, Ghaziabad and Rajasthan and seized spurious products worth several lakhs of rupees. The raids, conducted by local authorities, confiscated fake personal and health care products and spurious medicines having Dabur’s label.  

“Through the initiatives of Dabur India, raids have been conducted at various locations and goods worth over Rs 1.50 crore have been seized so far. Raids of such magnitude are an effort to tackle the problem of fake products entering the Indian market, which result in an annual loss of approximately Rs 30,000 crore to the industry and Rs 15,000 crore to the Government exchequer,” says P D Narang, Group Director at Dabur India Ltd 

The seized goods included 50,000 labels of Dabur Gulabari, over 30,000 labels of Dabur Keora Water and both filled and empty bottles of different sizes. Another raid in district Hoogly (West Bengal) led to the seizure of about 800 packs of spurious Dabur Lal Dant Manjan. Besides, raids were also conducted in Ghaziabad and about 2,000 printed caps of Dabur Honitus and 1,000 printed caps of Dabur Active Antacid and 500 plain caps and butter papers with monogram and computer, printers etc. were recovered. A raid was also conducted at a premises engaged in making spurious Dabur Active Antacid in Jaipur and fake products, labels and bottles were seized.
