In a bid to expand their global footprints, Godrej Locks have entered the Sri Lankan market through a tie up with the Abans Group to promote and market their globally renowned brand of locks in Sri Lanka. The announcement was made at an event in Colombo recently where Godrej Locks showcased their entire range of access control devices and locking solutions.
Shyam Motwani, Executive Vice President and Business Head, Godrej Locks said, “We are delighted to tie-up with the Abans Group which has a wide distribution network of around 600 dealers and 350 showrooms. The prestigious association with ABANS group will help us gain a strong foothold in the rapidly developing Sri Lankan market, build credibility and increase our distribution network.”
He further added, “The Sri Lankan market with a value of approximately 50 million USD, is a market with great potential. It is also a neighboring market and we feel that this close proximity is of great advantage to us. As identified, this market offers a lot of opportunity in the retail and institution segment. We are planning to increase the business volumes to a level of almost 3 times the size of the current value in year 1 and almost 5 times the current size by year 5.”
Godrej Locks will embark on a series of New Channels and initiatives in Sri Lanka with a strong focus on influencer management, Key Account Management, Retailer Offers amongst others. A major after sales service plan will also be implemented, which features the installation of Key duplication machines at major malls, and opening of call centres.
Tito Pestonjee, Director, Abans, said, “I am elated to be associated with a brand like Godrej Locks as the manufacturing and the sophistication of Godrej Locks would definitely boost our product portfolio and give us an opportunity to provide our customers with superior products at affordable prices.”
He further added, “The tie-up between Godrej Locks and Abans augurs well for Sri Lankan consumers, especially for those in the Construction and House-Building industry.  Security & Safety is paramount in your home, and with Godrej Locks, rest assured that you are in safe and secure hands.”
