Havells India Foray Into Water Purifiers Segment

Havells India announced its foray in the water purifiers segment aiming at Rs 100 crore revenue in the first year of operations.

Narendra Choudhary, Executive Vice President, Havells India said “Havells water purifier is India's first purifier with pH balance. All components of Havells water purifies are made in India. The water purifiers will be manufactured in Havells' Haridwar plant. Company plans to acquire 8%-10% of the water purifiers market in the next four years. “Water purifier industry is around Rs 4500 crore which is expected to be double in next four years. The segment is largely unorganised and only few organised player have small share. Haridwar unit has an installed capacity of half a million units per annum. Havells is fully equipped and future ready to ramp up the capacity to 1 million units per annum.”

He also said “Havells water purifiers would be available across country in a phased manner. The company will utilize its sales and distribution network and has created a dedicated after sales service mechanism. Service technicians have been trained for the in-house developed technology and would offer service in every part of the country. Customers would be able to reach through the toll-free helpline of Havells”.
