Home furnishing companies eyeing rapid expansion in India

India has emerged as one of the fastest growing markets for home furnishing products over the last five years. The market is projected to cross Rs 40,000 crore by 2020 in the country.

As the demand rises for branded and custom-designed furniture, the home furnishing companies are expanding their presence across the country. Therefore, one such company, Urban Ladder, is planning to expand into other Indian cities.

Urban Ladder has 11 stores in New Delhi and Bengaluru. The home furnishing company is now looking to launch a store in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.

The brand further aims to engage extensively with the community in order to create a strong presence in the local furniture industry.

Ashish Goel, CEO and Co-Founder, Urban Ladder, said, “I have always been fascinated with Coimbatore as an economy and city due to its dynamism and rich cultural heritage. Our presence in Coimbatore will provide the perfect opportunity to reach out to a newer audience and leverage our existing customer base. Coimbatore’s general preference for solid wood furniture and the traditional aesthetic is reflected in many of our product offerings, for example, the India Inspired range.”

“We aim to cater to the needs of the primarily bungalow homes as well as the developing modern apartments in the city. We are eager to present our product line, an embodiment of the delicate balance between tradition and modernity,” he added.
