Hotelogix Bags $5 Mn Funding From Vertex Venture, Existing Investors

In a round led by Vertex Ventures and participated by existing investors like Accel Partners and Saama Capital, Hotelogix has raised $5 million of funding. Earlier in 2014, the existing investors had invested around $2 million in Hotelogix, a cloud-based hotel property management system provider.

Founded in 2008 by engineers Prabhash Bhatnagar and Aditya Sanghi, Hotelogix’s property management system is used by over 1500 hotels in more than 100 countries.

The company will utilize the funds for launching operations in Thailand, and to target independent hotels in North and South America and in the UK.

Sanghi said, “Rapid as well as a well-thought-out expansion, is on the cards. In the last couple of years, we have created a good customer base of group hotels in India, replacing popular on-premise property management systems. With this, we have gained a strong foothold in Indian market that has set the stage for us to now invest aggressively in this segment to scale up operations.”

Hotel brands like Treebo Hotels, Mint Hotels, Leisure Hotels, and Country Inn Hotels & Resorts, are some of the chains that use Hotelogix’s services. The company was part of Microsoft Accelerator’s 11th cohort last year.

Ben Mathias, managing Partner at Vertex Ventures said that “the number of interfaces needed by hotels to OTAs, channel managers, search engines, and review sites is continuously increasing, which necessitates the need for hotels to have a cloud-based PMS solution.”
