Chinese smartphone-maker Huawei has launched 'Honor 8 Lite' in India that will be available through offline channels.
Priced at Rs 17,999, Honor 8 Lite will be available in premium black colour initially, followed by blue colour later this month and can be purchased from May 12 across all Honor partner stores in the country.
In a statement, P Sanjeev, Vice President, Sales, Huawei India Consumer Business Group, said, "We and our channel partners are excited to launch this product and are sure that the Indian offline consumer will fall in love on their first glance at the new Honor 8 Lite."
The smartphone has 12MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera with a 77-degree wide angle lens, coupled with an upgraded and highly-intuitive selfie mode.
The company’s expansion comes after having taken over ownership of its exclusive online store.
The steps are taken with funds drying up from the parent organisation which is currently facing a severe financial problem.
The Chinese handset maker looks to deepen its presence in the country with an eye on dethroning Samsung from the top spot.
The firm shipped 23.16 million smartphones in the second quarter of 2017, up 70 percent from the previous quarter, marking a record high for its quarterly smartphone shipments, it said in a statement.
