ITC will set up stores in rural areas

ITC has the following plans for the next year: - it will set up small format stores in rural areas. These will be on the lines of Choupal Sagar. Each store will cost about Rs 2 cr, and stores will come up in small towns/rural areas in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Maharashtra. - Fruit and vegetable outlets will be increased to 200 in three years. - 50 Choupal Fresh will be operational in Hyderabad, Pune and Chandigarh. In the second phase, 140 new stores will be opened in other cities. - E-Choupals or internet kiosks, will be increased to 20,000 from the current 6,400.
