Puma, the world's largest sports goods firm, has announced to roll out a new reusable shoe bag instead of traditional boxes, which uses 65 per cent less paper, in the second half of the next year.
Puma said that the ‘Clever Little Bag’, will save 8,500 tonnes of paper, cut its carbon footprint, and reduce 60 pc of water and energy used during production.
Jochen Zeitz, chief executive at Puma, admitted that the packaging would impose higher costs in the short term because sustainable materials still cost more than unsustainable materials.
