Rising demand of LED lamps hampers CFL lamps' demand

Bajaj Electricals is unsure of meeting its revenue target of Rs 5000 crore by the end of this year as people have switched to LED lamps and thus CFL lamps demand has been affected real bad.

As per Skekhar Bajaj, Chairman Bajaj Electricals, the company might only be able to make around Rs 4500 crore to Rs 4800 crore by the end of this year.

As per ET, Bajaj said, "The CFL market will continue to crash and availability of LED lamps in the market should improve in the second half of the fiscal. We expect better prospect for the lighting business in the second half."

He also added, "The consumer products business which contributes 50% to the sales is growing at double digit."

According to Bajaj the company is a leader in small appliances but it wants to become a dominant leader.
