Snapdeal buys Shopo.in

Snapdeal, one of India's leading marketplace, has acquired Indian designer marketplace named Shopo.in, for an undisclosed amount. This will help Shopo’s sellers an opportunity to leverage Snapdeal’s 20 million members. It will merge sellers with Snapdeal and the portal will be closed down.Investor behind the Shopo are Sequoia Capital, Sashi Reddi, SRI Capital and Seeders.Founder and CTO of Shopo, Theyagarajan S, says, “Snapdeal will give its sellers a larger audience that would love the ethnic and Indian design products that Shopo has”. Shopo was founded by Theyagarajan S & Krithika Nelson in 2011.
