Weekender: All set to introduce a new segment

Primus retail, which owns the brands such as Levis, Adidas, Nike, Puma, and Tommy Hilfiger, is all set to introduce a new young parents segment in its youth apparel format store Weekender.

The brand is keen to reposition as a family store in India’s rapidly burgeoning apparel retail market.

Balaji Bhat, CEO and MD, Primus Retail, said that though there are many brands for youth and kids, hardly anything is available for young parents. There is a huge gap in that segment. So apart from kids, the company wants to cater to this segment.

The brand is planning to attract franchises to set up 260 exclusive brand outlets. The format also hopes to have 100 shop-in-shops in large multi brand outlets such as Shopper’s Stop and Lifestyle, over the next two years.

At present, Weekender is available in 60 exclusive stores and 40 shop-in-shops spread across 40 cities in the country.
