Dr Oetker acquires 100 percent stake in Fun Foods Pvt Ltd

Dr Oetker, the German Group with an international presence in 40 countries, today announced its 100 percent acquisition of Fun Foods Pvt Ltd. Dr Oetker had acquired the trademark rights of Fun Foods brand in Dec 2008. This acquisitionhad brought the entire distribution network and the manufacturing capabilities of Fun Foods into Dr. Oetker’s fold. Volkmar Preuss, Board Member and Executive VP Sales, Dr Oetker Global Food Division & Director, Dr Oetker India & Fun Foods stated, “We are extremely excited about expanding our footprint in India. Having established a successful food division globally, we chose to enter India through the acquisition route. “

“Fun Foods had the right products which are continental but Indianised, at the right price points and  has immense growth potential which justified our acquisition,” Preuss further said. The cost of acquisition of Fun Foods by Dr Oetker  has been Rs 110 crore.

 Dr Oetker is also planning to introduce international product lines within a spen of six months. For beefing up the manufacturing of the same, Dr Oetker has acquired land in Rajasthan.  Currently, the brand has presence in around 1800 retail outlets  (both modern and traditional stores) and is distributed in 150 cities.
