The axis of the toy has lights that change color when you spin the inner core by pulling the two plastic handles.  Once the center core starts spinning and you pull on the cords, the light creates different shapes.

 There are three styles with different colored LED lights to choose from- purple with red and white LED, Blue with blue and multicolored LED and Green with green and white LED.
