Manu Chandra, Chetan Rampal who gave India its first gastro-pub part ways from Olive Group of Restaurant

“So long, and thanks for all the Baos, shared Chef Manu Chandra in an Instagram post as he bid adieu to Olive Group of Restaurants after spending 16 long years with the brand.

Known for his cooking style, finest ingredients and freshness intact, Manu changed the fine-dining scenario in Bengaluru in early 2012 by setting up the first gastro-pub in India. And since then, there was no looking back, Manu together with Chetan Rampal who also says goodbye to AD Singh owned Olive Group of Restaurant today has given us so many reasons to celebrate.

Together they opened The Fatty Bao - a chic, trendy Asian Gastro Bar, Toast & Tonic - inspired by New York’s East Village, and soon Bottlenekk - cosy garden bar.

Chetan began his journey with the group in 2011, after getting a Diploma in Hotel Management & Catering Technology. Known for always keeping ahead of the game by leading examples, he started his journey by looking after Olive Bar & Kitchen, Mumbai’s operations.

Announcing the news on the social platform, AD Singh, Managing Director, Olive Group of Restaurant said, “All good things must come to an end goes the adage. It is with sadness that we announce the moving on from the Olive Family, its two partners Chetan Rampal and Manu Chandra.”

Manu concluded his post by saying, “I step forward toward a far bigger canvas and greater ambition- to finally bring to fruition cherished dreams and ideas that were set aside to focus on the daily grind.”

He also mentioned that this time, his sole mission is to –surprise, enrich, delight customers in new ways.
