Harry Shearer, voice of Mr. Burns and Skinner, leaves The Simpsons

Harry Shearer, the actor and voice artist popular for being the voice of principle Seymour Skinner, Mr. Burns and dozens more in The Simpsons has decided to end his 25-year long relation with the show. His departure follows an alleged dispute with makers of the show. However, 71 year old Shearer took to twitter to say the decision ‘wasn’t about money’ and that signing up to season’s 27 and 28 of the show would have stopped him from doing other work. Over his 25-year role in The Simpsons, Shearer has voiced a plethora of regular characters, including principle Seymour Skinner, Jasper, Otto and many more. Despite the departure, executive producer James L Brooks has said that the “show will go on,” adding that there are no plans to kill off the cast of characters voiced by Shearer.
