Cricketer Virat Kohli To Launch Packaged Water Business

After sports and fashion wear, gymnasiums, and a tech startup, India’s highest paid sports person, Virat Kohli, is foraying into the packaged water space with his brand One8.

Bunty Sajdeh, chief executive of talent management company Cornerstone Sport & Entertainment that represents Kohli said “Yes, plans are on track to launch packaged water, flavoured and vitamin waters under the brand One8. Cornerstone Sport & Entertainment was in second stages of talks with external stakeholders, for manufacturing tie ups and distribution. We can’t disclose details of who we are in talks with. We are expecting to close the deals next month.”

Kohli, 29, in November last year announced creation of his brand One8 apparel, footwear and accessories along with German sports lifestyle company Puma.

While brand One8 is owned by Kohli, Puma is providing products and designing, besides retailing it at stores. Sajdeh said going forward, One8 could be extended to more packaged consumer goods categories and that the company is exploring multiple options for the same.
