Tea retail chain Chai Point raises Rs 60 crore via preference share route

Food and beverage brand Chai Point, owned by Mountain Trails Foods Pvt Ltd, has raised Rs 60 crore by allotting preference shares of 1,22,130. The company has raised the funding from investors like Eight Roads Ventures, Sama Capital, Milestone Capital and DSCGP Souza.

Co-Founded by Amuleek Singh Bijral, Chai Point has emerged as one of the largest omni-channel beverage brands in India. Currently, the brand has over 150 stores across eight cities, 3,000 dispensers across 16 cities and does more than 300,000 deliveries per month. 

Chai Point is increasingly making its packaged product portfolio available across online as well as offline channels.

In April 2018, the company had raised $20 million in Series C from Paragon Partners. The round has also seen participation from other investors including DSG, Eight Roads Ventures and Saama Capital.
