[Funding Alert] Peping Bags Rs 2.5 Cr Led by IAN Angel Fund

IAN Angel Fund, the evergreen fund of IAN Group, has led a funding round of Rs 2.5 crore in Peping, an FMCG startup focused on functional beverages. The round also included participation from other angel investors. The capital will be used to expand distribution, strengthen supply chain operations, support brand building, and introduce new product flavours.

Investor interest in Peping is driven by the company’s focus on functional nutrition and early signs of repeat consumption among customers. The brand operates within India’s premium and health-focused beverage segment, which is estimated to be valued at around Rs 10,000 crore and continues to grow. Functional beverages are among the fastest-growing sub-categories and are projected to reach Rs 13,500 crore by 2033, supported by increasing demand from Gen Z and millennial consumers seeking alternatives to sugary drinks.

Founded by Chirag Maheshwari and Prateek Maheshwari, Peping produces low-calorie prebiotic fizzy drinks and probiotic digestive shots designed for daily consumption. The company aims to offer functional beverages that combine taste, affordability, and shelf stability for Indian consumers.

The brand’s product range includes sodas intended for regular consumption and digestive shots aimed at targeted gut health support. This format allows the company to address different consumption occasions within the functional beverage category.

Peping products are currently available through quick commerce and e-commerce platforms, including Swiggy Instamart, Zepto, and BigBasket, as well as First Club, Namdhari’s, and Ratnadeep. The company also sells through more than 200 retail outlets in Bengaluru and has distribution partnerships with gyms, cafés, and corporate offices.

To improve margins and operational control, the company has set up its production facility using off-the-shelf components and manages soda canning in-house.

Chirag Maheshwari, Co-Founder, Peping said, “We are thrilled to welcome IAN Group on board alongside key co-investors Signal Ventures, Eleven Eleven, and other angels. Beyond sharing our excitement for Peping’s vision, they bring invaluable strategic expertise to accelerate our distribution expansion and strengthen brand presence.”

Within the company, Chirag Maheshwari manages production, online sales and branding. Prateek Maheshwari oversees distribution, offline sales and finance. The founders have known each other since childhood and bring experience across product development, partnerships, and scaling operations.

Globally, functional sodas have gained traction, with brands such as Olipop and Poppi seeing strong growth in markets like the United States. In India, the category is still developing, though consumer interest in digestive health remains high. Industry data indicates that nearly 70 percent of urban Indians report digestive concerns, while traditional probiotic foods such as curd and kanji remain widely consumed.

With the expansion of quick commerce and faster delivery networks, distribution opportunities for new beverage brands in India have increased, enabling companies in emerging categories to reach consumers more quickly.

aiqa Expands Into Direct-to-Consumer Healthcare With New Wellness Plans

Health and wellness platform aiqa has entered the direct-to-consumer (D2C) healthcare market, marking a shift from its employer- and partner-led business model to direct consumer engagement. After operating exclusively through employers and business partners for six years, the company is now expanding its services to individuals through a dedicated online platform.

Through its new website, aiqa will provide consumers with health plans and preventive healthcare programmes. Its first D2C offering is a doctor-led weight management programme, with additional healthcare and wellness services expected to be introduced in the coming months.

Backed by Eleven, aiqa currently generates approximately Rs 100 crore in revenue and adds nearly 1 lakh members every month across more than 500 cities. The move into D2C is expected to help the company establish direct relationships with consumers while broadening access to its healthcare services beyond employer-sponsored and partner-led channels.

To support its new business direction, the company has introduced an updated brand identity and a redesigned website. The new platform will serve as the primary digital channel for its consumer-facing healthcare services, allowing individuals to access its offerings without relying on employer or business partnerships.

Alongside its D2C expansion, aiqa has appointed Anuj Arora as Chief Executive Officer to lead its partner- and employer-focused business. Arora brings 23 years of professional experience across India, Southeast Asia and Hong Kong. He previously served as Executive Vice President and Business Head at MediBuddy. His experience also includes leading Monster's India small and medium-sized business (SMB) division and its operations in the Philippines and Hong Kong.

The company's consumer strategy builds on the healthcare infrastructure, operational capabilities, and member base developed through its existing business. While aiqa will continue serving employers and partners, its D2C model is intended to reach individuals seeking more proactive and personalised healthcare solutions.

Weight management and preventive healthcare will form the initial focus of the consumer platform, with plans to expand into other wellness and personalised healthcare services over time.

Zero-Sugar Beverage Brand Sorry Sugar Names New CEO to Drive Expansion

Zero-added-sugar beverage brand Sorry Sugar has appointed Palash Arneja as its Founder and Chief Executive Officer, strengthening its leadership team as the company prepares for its next phase of growth.

Arneja, who previously incubated the brand through Wolfpack Labs, will now take charge of the company’s product innovation, distribution expansion, and overall business growth strategy.

The appointment comes shortly after Sorry Sugar secured $1 million in seed funding, led by the Dhanuka family and Amishi London. The fresh capital is expected to support the brand’s expansion plans and category development initiatives.

Before joining Sorry Sugar in a leadership capacity, Arneja founded BLA BLI BLU, a venture that, according to the company, achieved a scale of Rs 1,000 crore in less than a year. He has also held positions at Unikon.ai, Deloitte, and HSBC, bringing experience across entrepreneurship, consulting, and financial services.

Currently, Sorry Sugar operates in the flavored coffee segment, offering products formulated with zero added sugar, prebiotic fibre, and functional nutrition benefits. The brand uses monk fruit as a natural sweetening ingredient alongside prebiotic fibre to create beverages targeted at health-conscious consumers.

As part of its growth roadmap, the company plans to strengthen its presence across both online and offline retail channels while expanding beyond coffee into additional everyday consumption categories. In his new role, Arneja will oversee product development, market expansion, and long-term business strategy.

Initially incubated under Wolfpack Labs, Sorry Sugar aims to build a wider portfolio focused on reducing added sugar in daily diets while increasing its footprint across the Indian food and beverage market.

The leadership transition reflects the company’s ambition to scale operations and broaden its offerings as consumer demand for healthier beverage alternatives continues to grow in India.

SORRY SUGAR Appoints Palash Arneja as Founder and CEO to Drive Expansion

SORRY SUGAR, a zero-added-sugar beverage and consumer brand, has announced the appointment of Palash Arneja as its Founder and Chief Executive Officer, as the company looks to accelerate growth and expand its presence in India’s fast-growing better-for-you products market.

The leadership announcement comes at a time when consumers are increasingly seeking healthier alternatives without compromising on taste, creating new opportunities for brands focused on wellness-driven innovation.

Arneja, who previously built BLA BLI BLU into a Rs 1,000 crore brand within a year, has been associated with SORRY SUGAR since its incubation alongside Wolfpack Labs. In his new role, he will oversee the company’s long-term vision, product development, market expansion, and business strategy.

Built around the philosophy, “Break up with sugar, not the sweetness,” SORRY SUGAR aims to make zero-added-sugar products more accessible to consumers by offering alternatives that combine indulgent taste with a health-conscious approach.

The brand’s products are formulated using monk fruit, a naturally derived sweetener, along with prebiotic fibre, allowing it to deliver beverages and other offerings that cater to changing consumer preferences for healthier everyday consumption.

Palash Arneja, Founder & CEO, SORRY SUGAR said, “Consumers shouldn’t have to choose between health and taste. That belief sits at the heart of SORRY SUGAR. We want to make zero-added-sugar choices accessible, mainstream and genuinely enjoyable. The opportunity is much larger than a single product or category - we are on a mission to change how India consumes sweetness. Our vision is to build SORRY SUGAR into one of India’s most exciting new-age consumer brands, with the ambition to take it global.”

The appointment comes as the company prepares for its next stage of expansion, bringing together product innovation, branding, distribution, and business growth under a unified strategy. SORRY SUGAR currently operates in the flavoured coffee segment, offering a portfolio that is zero added sugar, fibre-rich, and prebiotic.

Going forward, the company plans to strengthen its presence across both online and offline channels while expanding beyond coffee into additional everyday consumption categories. The broader goal is to build a consumer platform focused on reducing added sugar consumption without compromising on the flavours and experiences consumers enjoy.

With increasing awareness around health and nutrition, SORRY SUGAR is positioning itself to capitalize on demand for functional and better-for-you products. The company’s long-term objective remains centered on transforming consumer habits and creating a new approach to sweetness in everyday diets.

The brand summed up its ambition with a clear mission: to redefine how India consumes sweetness – by killing the sugar, not the sweetness.

Sokora by Yes Madam Expands Across D2C and Online Marketplaces

At-home salon and wellness platform Yes Madam has expanded the availability of its Korean-inspired skincare and haircare brand, Sokora, across direct-to-consumer and e-commerce channels. The move follows growing consumer demand for the range, which was initially introduced through the company’s professional beauty services.

The Sokora portfolio includes products such as Korean Glow Day & Nite Cream, Korean Kera-Tress Shampoo & Conditioner, Korean Reset Glow Face Wash, Sunscreen SPF 50, 5-in-1 Face Serum, and 3-in-1 Hair Serum, among others. The products are now available through the Yes Madam app, Sokora’s official website, as well as online marketplaces including Amazon, Flipkart, and Myntra.

The decision to expand into retail was driven by the strong performance of Sokora’s professional range, which is currently used in several Yes Madam treatments, including the Korean Waxing Ritual, Korean Glow Facial, Korean Body Polishing, and Korean Hydraglo Facial. The brand reported significant customer interest in purchasing the products for personal use, prompting the broader rollout.

The range has been developed to offer convenient everyday skincare and haircare solutions, with a focus on travel-friendly formats and multifunctional products designed to address a variety of beauty needs.

While inspired by Korean beauty trends, Sokora has been formulated specifically for Indian consumers. The company stated that the products have been adapted to suit Indian skin and hair types, as well as local climatic conditions, rather than replicating existing Korean formulations.

Aditya Arya, Co-Founder and CEO, Yes Madam said, “We saw that consumers were increasingly interested in Korean beauty, but there was also a need for products that were better suited to Indian skin, hair and weather conditions. As disruptors in the at-home beauty space, we saw an opportunity to bridge this gap by taking inspiration from Korean beauty while developing Sokora around the needs of Indian consumers. We have also focused on making the range convenient for everyday use. The strong response to our professional range gave us the confidence to now make Sokora available to consumers for use at home as well.”

With the retail expansion of Sokora, Yes Madam aims to strengthen its presence in the beauty and wellness market by combining service-led expertise with a growing portfolio of consumer products. The company plans to continue introducing new offerings aligned with evolving customer preferences and beauty trends.

Zigly Pet Care Acquires Prolife Speciality Vet Clinic to Expand Mumbai Presence

Zigly Pet Care, which describes itself as India’s first omnichannel pet care brand, has acquired Prolife Speciality Vet Clinic in Malad, Mumbai, as part of its strategy to strengthen its veterinary healthcare network and expand its pet care ecosystem across the country.

The acquisition marks Zigly Pet Care’s third strategic buyout in the veterinary care segment and is expected to support the company’s plans to build a broader network of specialised pet healthcare facilities. The company said the clinic is expected to transition into a 24x7 facility within the next nine to twelve months.

Established in 2000 and managed by Dr. S. M. Gadge, Prolife Speciality Vet Clinic has developed a strong presence in Mumbai’s pet healthcare market, offering services including outpatient consultations, diagnostics, surgery, endoscopy, pathology, and pharmacy support. The clinic has treated nearly 20,000 pets and reports an annual recurring revenue (ARR) of Rs 4.36 crore.

Following the acquisition, the clinic will continue to operate with its existing team of veterinarians, centre manager, and support staff to ensure uninterrupted care for current customers and their pets.

Saurabh Jain, Chief Executive Officer, Zigly Pet Care, said, “India’s pet care industry is evolving rapidly, with pet parents increasingly seeking specialised healthcare backed by clinical expertise and round the clock support. Prolife Speciality Vet Clinic has earned the trust of Mumbai’s pet parent community over more than two decades, making it an ideal partner in our growth journey. As we plan to transform this into a 24x7 facility and integrating it with the Zigly Pet Care ecosystem, we are expanding access to advanced veterinary care while strengthening trusted our ability to deliver a seamless pet parenting experience. This acquisition also reflects our long-term strategy of scaling high-quality veterinary services through strategic partnerships with respected clinicians across the country.”

The addition of the Malad-based clinic further strengthens Zigly Pet Care’s veterinary presence in Mumbai and expands its access to specialised pet healthcare services. The latest acquisition follows the company’s earlier acquisitions of Small Animal Clinic & Surgical Centre in Khar West and Dr. Santa’s Pet Clinic.

According to the company, these acquisitions are aimed at creating a wider network of veterinary professionals while improving access to consultations, diagnostics, and treatment services for pet owners. The strategy also seeks to bring specialised veterinary expertise closer to neighbourhood communities and enhance continuity of care for pets requiring long-term medical attention.

Oziva Posts 80 Pc Revenue Growth in FY26 as HUL Completes Acquisition

Oziva, the nutrition and wellness brand now wholly owned by Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL), reported strong topline growth in FY26, although rising marketing investments and employee stock option costs weighed on profitability during the fiscal year.

Oziva’s revenue from operations increased 80 percent to Rs 463.4 crore in FY26, compared with Rs 257.8 crore in FY25.

The company derives its revenue from a portfolio of nutrition and wellness products, including plant-based supplements, protein products, vitamins, and solutions focused on skin and hair health. Product sales remained the sole contributor to operating revenue during the year.

Domestic sales continued to drive the business, contributing Rs 454 crore in FY26, up from Rs 257 crore in the previous fiscal year. The company also recorded growth in international markets, where revenue rose to Rs 8.3 crore, compared with Rs 8.3 lakh in FY25.

Including Rs 4.1 crore generated through non-operating activities, Oziva’s total income stood at Rs 467.5 crore for the fiscal year.

On the expenditure side, advertising and promotional spending remained the company’s largest cost component. Marketing expenditure more than doubled to Rs 246.2 crore in FY26 from Rs 119.8 crore in FY25, accounting for over half of the company’s total expenses.

The cost of materials consumed increased 63 percent to Rs 116 crore, while employee benefit expenses nearly doubled to Rs 45.4 crore. This figure included Rs 22 crore in cash-settled employee stock option (ESOP) costs, significantly higher than the Rs 7 crore recorded in the previous year. Transportation and logistics expenses also rose 57 percent to Rs 36.9 crore.

The increase in spending impacted profitability, resulting in a sharp rise in losses. Oziva reported a net loss of Rs 18.5 crore in FY26, compared with Rs 4.2 crore in FY25. The company noted that cash-settled ESOP expenses contributed significantly to the loss as employees exercised stock options following changes in ownership. Excluding the Rs 22 crore ESOP-related cost, Oziva would have reported an estimated profit of around Rs 3.5 crore.

At the end of FY26, the company’s cash and bank balance stood at Rs 8.8 crore, down 67 percent year-on-year, while current assets totaled Rs 106 crore.

The financial performance comes ahead of a major ownership transition. In February 2026, Hindustan Unilever acquired the remaining 49 percent stake in Oziva for Rs 824 crore, making the company a wholly owned subsidiary. HUL had initially purchased a 51 percent stake in the nutrition brand in December 2022 for Rs 264.28 crore.

The latest transaction valued Oziva at approximately Rs 1,682 crore, representing a significant increase from the valuation implied during HUL’s initial investment.

D2C Fashion Brand Bewakoof Records 40 Pc Revenue Growth in FY26

Bewakoof, the direct-to-consumer (D2C) fashion and lifestyle brand owned by the Aditya Birla Group, recorded strong revenue growth in FY26, although its losses continued to widen during the fiscal year ended March 2026.

The company’s operating revenue increased 40.5 percent to Rs 243 crore in FY26, compared to Rs 173 crore in FY25.

Known for its range of fashion and lifestyle products, including T-shirts, hoodies, bags, and phone covers, Bewakoof continued to derive the majority of its income from product sales during the year.

On the expenditure side, the cost of materials consumed remained the company’s largest expense category. Material costs rose 45.7 percent year-on-year to Rs 134 crore, up from Rs 92 crore in FY25.

Employee benefit expenses increased 7.7 percent to Rs 28 crore, while marketing and promotional spending grew 26.5 percent to Rs 62 crore, reflecting continued investments in customer acquisition and brand visibility. In contrast, transportation and handling expenses declined 17.1 percent to Rs 29 crore, compared to Rs 35 crore in the previous fiscal year.

The company also reported a significant increase in depreciation expenses, which nearly tripled to Rs 16.6 crore from Rs 6 crore in FY25. Other operating expenses rose 66.1 percent to Rs 66.4 crore, up from Rs 40 crore a year earlier.

Overall, Bewakoof’s total expenditure climbed 35.5 percent to Rs 336 crore in FY26, compared with Rs 248 crore in the previous fiscal.

Despite the sharp rise in revenue, the company reported a wider net loss. Bewakoof’s loss increased 19.4 percent to Rs 87.4 crore in FY26, compared to Rs 73.2 crore in FY25.

However, some profitability indicators showed improvement. The company’s EBITDA loss narrowed slightly to Rs 59.8 crore from Rs 60.7 crore in the previous year, while its EBITDA margin improved to -24.6 percent from -35.1 percent. Its return on capital employed (ROCE) also improved to -63.4 percent, compared with -96.6 percent in FY25.

Operational efficiency improved marginally as well. Bewakoof spent Rs 1.38 to generate every Rs 1 of operating revenue during FY26, compared with Rs 1.43 in the previous year.

The company’s balance sheet reflected moderate growth in assets, with total current assets rising to Rs 91.1 crore at the end of FY26 from Rs 84.8 crore a year earlier. Cash and bank balances also increased slightly to Rs 22 lakh, compared with Rs 18 lakh in FY25.

FY26 was also a significant year for the company from a leadership perspective. Prabhkiran Singh, co-founder of Bewakoof, stepped down from the business in February 2026, ending a 14-year association with the company. His departure came nearly three years after Aditya Birla Digital Fashion Ventures (ABDFVL) acquired a majority stake in Bewakoof in February 2023 through TMRW, the Aditya Birla Group’s digital-first fashion and lifestyle venture.

The Indian Garage Co Reports Higher Revenue but Wider Losses in FY26

The Indian Garage Co (TIGC), a direct-to-consumer (D2C) fashion brand focused on men's apparel, recorded a moderate rise in revenue during FY26 amid increasing competition in India's online fashion market. While the company continued to expand its topline, its losses widened as spending on marketing, operations, and workforce increased during the year.

TIGC's revenue from operations grew 15 percent to Rs 234.6 crore in FY26, compared to Rs 204.2 crore in FY25.

The company, which designs, manufactures, and sells men's fashion products under its own labels, generated its operating revenue entirely through product sales.

Including other income of Rs 2.95 crore, TIGC's total income reached Rs 237.5 crore during FY26, up from Rs 206.9 crore in the previous fiscal year.

On the expenditure front, raw material costs remained the company's largest expense category. Material costs increased 13 percent to Rs 117.5 crore in FY26 from Rs 104 crore a year earlier.

The company significantly increased its investment in marketing and brand visibility during the year. Advertising and promotional expenses climbed to Rs 29.3 crore, more than double the Rs 14 crore spent in FY25, reflecting heightened competition among D2C fashion brands.

Job work charges, covering outsourced manufacturing and production activities, stood at Rs 39.5 crore. Employee benefit expenses also increased 24 percent year-on-year to Rs 21 crore.

Additional costs, including depreciation and amortisation, finance charges, legal and professional fees, travel expenditure, and other operational expenses, pushed the company's total spending to Rs 276.1 crore in FY26, compared with Rs 237.5 crore in FY25, representing a 16 percent increase.

As expenses continued to grow faster than revenue, TIGC's losses widened during the fiscal year. The company reported a net loss of Rs 28.7 crore, up 27 percent from Rs 22.6 crore in FY25.

Operational efficiency metrics also reflected the pressure on profitability. The company spent Rs 1.18 to generate every rupee of operating revenue during FY26, compared with Rs 1.16 in the previous year. Its EBITDA margin improved slightly to -5.12 percent from -6 percent, while return on capital employed (ROCE) stood at -12.61 percent.

TIGC received a major boost in October 2023 when Aditya Birla Group's TMRW invested approximately Rs 155 crore in the business, securing a 51 percent stake. TMRW has also expanded its presence in the D2C fashion segment through investments in brands such as Bewakoof.

The company's FY26 performance highlights the evolving dynamics of India's D2C fashion sector, where brands are facing rising customer acquisition costs and increasing competition.

Priced between Rs 399 and Rs 1,299, the new range includes jewellery sets, mangalsutras, necklaces, chains, bangles, and earrings. Designed for festive celebrations and wedding occasions, the collection features gold-plated, silver-plated, and oxidised jewellery options with anti-tarnish finishes.

The jewellery line is currently available through the brand’s website, mobile app, and leading online marketplaces. Libas also plans to extend the collection to its exclusive brand outlets (EBOs) in the coming months.

The launch comes shortly after the brand’s foray into the fragrance category, reflecting its broader strategy of expanding into adjacent fashion and lifestyle segments that align with its customer base.

Sidhant Keshwani, Founder & CEO, Libas said, “Libas has always been built around a deep understanding of the Indian consumer and how fashion is evolving across occasions. Our entry into jewellery is a natural progression of that vision, but more importantly, it reflects our ambition to build Libas as a larger fashion business. As we expand into new categories, our focus will remain on creating strong consumer relevance while building businesses that can scale over the long term.”

The jewellery category is being introduced initially through Libas’ digital channels. The planned rollout across its EBO network is expected to strengthen the brand’s omnichannel presence and improve access to the collection through its offline retail footprint.

BigMuscles Nutrition Revamps Portfolio with Focus on Transparency and Quality

Sports nutrition brand BigMuscles Nutrition has announced a refresh of its product portfolio, focusing on cleaner ingredients, formulation quality, transparency, and enhanced consumer information. The company has also introduced a new packaging identity across its range as it responds to changing consumer preferences in the sports nutrition market.

The move comes amid growing demand for nutrition products that offer more than just protein content. Consumers are increasingly paying attention to ingredient quality, sweeteners, digestion and absorption benefits, taste, testing standards and overall product transparency.

BigMuscles Nutrition has refined the formulation of products such as Premium Gold Whey, which combines Whey Protein Isolate and Whey Protein Concentrate with ingredients including bromelain, stevia, Himalayan salt and cocoa. The company said bromelain supports protein digestion and absorption, while stevia serves as a plant-based sweetener. Himalayan salt and cocoa have also been incorporated to contribute to the overall formulation and flavor profile.

The brand’s product development efforts are supported by its GMP-certified sports nutrition manufacturing facility, which utilizes advanced German technology and multi-stage quality-control processes. These processes include batch-level testing, contamination screening, and protein-content verification.

BigMuscles Nutrition also highlighted the use of Bruker TANGO FT NIR technology, a German analytical system that helps assess key product parameters and supports the verification of protein content accuracy.

Alongside product enhancements, the company has unveiled refreshed packaging across its portfolio. The updated design features a cleaner visual identity and places greater emphasis on ingredient and product information, making it easier for consumers to understand what they are purchasing.

Jitika Gupta, Co-founder and CMO, BigMuscles Nutrition said, “The consumer today is not just asking how much protein is in a product, but what is in it, how it is made and whether they can trust what is on the label. That is changing the category. Our evolution is rooted in responding to that consumer with cleaner formulations, greater transparency and stronger quality processes. The new packaging brings this thinking to the forefront, making the information consumers care about easier to see and understand. It is a step towards building a more transparent, informed and consumer-first nutrition brand.”

The refreshed portfolio includes products such as Premium Gold Whey, Gold Whey Isolate and Nitra Isolate, catering to a range of fitness and nutritional requirements. Through these changes, BigMuscles Nutrition aims to strengthen its focus on ingredient quality, transparency, taste consistency and manufacturing standards as consumer expectations continue to evolve in the sports nutrition category.

D2C Personal Care Brand Phitku Launches Mouth Paste in India

Personal care brand Phitku has entered the oral care segment with the launch of Phitku Mouth Paste, marking the company's expansion beyond its existing deodorant portfolio. The new product extends the brand’s core philosophy of “Eliminate. Don’t Mask.” into the oral hygiene category, with a focus on addressing breath odour at its source.

Positioned as a whole-mouth oral care product, Phitku Mouth Paste is designed to support care across the teeth, gums and tongue rather than focusing solely on dental cleaning. The company said the formulation aims to address oral freshness and odour management through a broader approach to everyday oral hygiene.

A key ingredient in the formulation is Phitkari (Potassium Alum), which has been a central component of the brand’s deodorant products.

The formulation combines Phitkari (Potassium Alum), Red Banana, Neem and Clove, alongside hydrated silica for cleaning and surface stain removal. Phitku said the product has been developed around three core oral care areas—teeth, gums and tongue—with particular attention to managing odour-causing bacteria that can accumulate on the tongue.

Rahul Dokania, Co-founder & Chief Product Officer, Phitku said, “Developing Mouth Paste was about translating Phitku’s odour-first philosophy into a completely new category while staying true to what the brand stands for. We looked at oral care beyond just the teeth and focused on bringing together ingredients such as Phitkari, Red Banana, Neem and Clove in a formulation designed around the teeth, gums and tongue. The intent was to create an everyday oral-care product that approaches breath odour differently, rather than simply adding another toothpaste to the shelf.”

Neha Marda, Co-founder, Phitku shared, “We have always believed that personal care should address the source of a concern rather than simply mask it. With Mouth Paste, we wanted to take that philosophy into a category where the conversation has traditionally centred around teeth. Your mouth is more than your teeth, and we believe your oral care should be too. Mouth Paste is our way of encouraging consumers to think about oral care more holistically.”

Sumit Marda, Co-founder & CEO, Phitku stated,, “For us, entering oral care was never about becoming another toothpaste brand. We saw an opportunity to take what Phitku already stands for odour management and apply that thinking to breath odour. Mouth Paste is an extension of our brand philosophy, but it also challenges consumers to question whether we have been thinking about oral care too narrowly.”

Phitku Mouth Paste is SLS-free and fluoride-free and is positioned as an odour-focused oral care solution rather than a conventional toothpaste. The launch follows the success of the brand’s Alum Crystal Roll-On range and reflects its strategy of expanding into adjacent hygiene categories.

Founded on January 16, 2025, by Neha Marda, Sumit Marda and Rahul Dokania, Phitku focuses on developing personal care products built around functional ingredients and modern formulations. The new Mouth Paste, available in a pack of two, has been on sale through the brand’s website since August 16, 2026.

NEWME Expands to 40 Stores Across India, Targets 60 Outlets by March 2027

Gen Z-focused fashion-tech brand NEWME has expanded its retail footprint to 40 stores across India following the launch of two new outlets in Lajpat Nagar, Delhi, and Model Town, Jalandhar.

The latest openings mark a significant milestone in the company’s offline growth strategy. NEWME has added 22 stores in 2026 alone, surpassing the 18 stores it opened during its first three years of operations. The brand is now aiming to reach 50 stores by December 2026 and 60 stores by March 2027.

Sumit Jasoria, CEO & Co-founder, NEWME said, “Reaching 40 stores is an important milestone for us, but the pace behind it is even more significant. In our first three years, we were deliberately measured about retail expansion, using our early stores to understand consumer behaviour, markets and the right formats for NEWME. The traction we have seen has given us the confidence to accelerate, and we have now added 22 stores this year alone—more than in our first three years. We are now looking to reach 50 stores by December and 60 stores by March 2027, as we build a strong physical network that takes NEWME closer to young consumers across the country. We believe India has the consumers, talent, and opportunity to build a global fashion company, and the next generation of Indian brands can make that happen.”

As part of its expansion strategy, NEWME has entered emerging markets such as Jalandhar, Jodhpur, Ludhiana, Visakhapatnam, and Vadodara, while further strengthening its presence in key markets including Delhi, Mumbai, and Rajasthan.

In August, the company launched five new stores across Delhi, Mumbai, and Rajasthan. Its retail growth strategy spans both shopping malls and high-street locations, focusing on established retail destinations as well as developing catchment areas with strong demand from young shoppers.

Decisions on store locations are driven by factors such as digital demand, consumer behavior insights, market potential, and local traction. The brand leverages data from its online platform to identify markets where physical stores can enhance customer engagement and brand visibility.

Offline retail has become an increasingly important part of NEWME’s business, currently accounting for more than 30 percent of overall revenue. The company reported that its offline segment has recorded 100 percent year-on-year growth and expects its contribution to rise further as the store network expands.

Supporting its omnichannel strategy is NEWME Zip, the brand’s quick-fashion delivery model, which works alongside its e-commerce platform and physical stores. The company continues to focus on combining trend-driven fashion with faster fulfillment and convenience for consumers.

Founded in 2022, NEWME has served more than 35 lakh customers and operates with a business model built around trend intelligence, technology, creator partnerships, and community-led engagement tailored to Gen Z shoppers.

Kitchen Appliances Brand Wonderchef Targets Rs 600 Cr Sales in India

Kitchen and home appliances brand Wonderchef is aiming for net sales of Rs 600 crore in the current financial year, up from Rs 486 crore last year and Rs 426 crore in the previous fiscal year, as it strengthens its omnichannel presence and expands across digital commerce platforms.

The company expects digital channels to account for 50 percent of its total sales over the next five years, compared to nearly 35 percent at present. Founder and CEO Ravi Saxena said the contribution of digital sales has increased from around 25 percent to 35 percent over the last two to two-and-a-half years, supported by a growing base of young consumers furnishing their first homes and increasingly preferring online shopping.

According to Saxena, digital sales are projected to grow at nearly twice the pace of general trade and modern trade channels. As a result, e-commerce, quick commerce, and omnichannel retail are becoming key pillars of Wonderchef’s growth strategy.

The company is targeting overall growth of 27 percent this year and expects festive season sales to rise by nearly 30 percent compared to the previous year. Currently, Wonderchef is growing at approximately 20 percent year-on-year through internal accruals and has no immediate plans to seek external funding. EBITDA profitability remains in the single-digit range as the company continues investing in expansion initiatives.

Wonderchef’s distribution network spans nearly 23,000 to 24,000 retail touchpoints across India, including general trade, modern trade, e-commerce, quick commerce platforms, army and police canteens, exclusive brand outlets, corporate gifting channels, exports, and its women entrepreneur network.

Its offline presence includes around 14,000 general trade outlets, 2,000 modern trade stores, 4,000 army and police canteen points, and 30 exclusive brand outlets. During the current financial year, the company plans to open 12 additional stores, split evenly between company-owned and franchise-operated formats. Each outlet typically covers 500–600 sq ft and requires an investment of around Rs 30–40 lakh.

The company’s smart appliance range, especially the Magic series, has emerged as a significant growth contributor. The portfolio includes products such as Chef Magic, Chai Magic, and Roti Magic.

The at-home coffee segment is also gaining traction. Wonderchef said it sold approximately 1.5 lakh domestic coffee machines in India last year and currently offers 16–17 products in this category.

In cookware, consumer preferences are shifting toward premium materials, with nearly 50 percent of sales now coming from triply steel and ceramic cookware alongside conventional non-stick products. The company recently introduced a vegetarian air fryer bundled with a 100-recipe cookbook, with its initial inventory selling out during the pre-booking phase.

International business currently contributes less than 2 percent of Wonderchef’s overall revenue, despite the brand having distribution partnerships across nearly 15 countries, indicating significant room for future global expansion.

D2C Bathware and Kitchen Fittings Brand Ruhe India Sets Expansion Target

D2C kitchen and bathware fittings brand Ruhe India has announced plans to significantly expand its offline retail presence, aiming to increase its network from 9 exclusive stores to 50 outlets over the next 12 months. The announcement coincides with the company’s sixth anniversary and reflects its broader strategy to strengthen its footprint across India.

The company said its offline business has become an important growth driver, complementing its digital-first approach by enhancing customer engagement, product discovery, and market reach. Supported by its expansion plans, Ruhe is targeting Rs 500 crore in revenue over the next three financial years, backed by a reported 90 percent compound annual growth rate (CAGR).

To support its retail growth, Ruhe is leveraging a zero-inventory retail model, under which products are supplied to dealers from local warehouses within four hours, reducing the need for dealers to maintain large inventories. The company plans to use this model to expand across metropolitan cities as well as Tier I and Tier II markets.

Ruhe’s stores are designed around a boutique-style shopping experience, allowing homeowners, architects, and interior designers to interact with products before making purchasing decisions. The company said the format is intended to help customers assess product dimensions, materials, and water-flow functionality, reducing issues related to fitment and installation.

Kapil Gupta, Founder and Director, Ruhe India said, “For years, kitchen and bathroom fittings were bought through fragmented dealer networks, often leaving homeowners with severe fitment issues and uncertain quality. Our exclusive stores bridge digital convenience with hands-on product validation, while our zero-inventory model addresses partners’ working capital challenges. With retail contributing nearly a third of revenues and initial outlets breaking even in under six months, expanding to 50 stores in the next 12 months is a natural step. With a 90 percent CAGR and a target of Rs 500 crore in revenue over the next three financial years, we are seeing strong market demand and building a solid foundation for our long-term growth.”

The company said its strategy combines the reach of a digital-first business with the benefits of physical retail, enabling consumers to experience products firsthand while maintaining efficient supply chain operations.

With plans to expand from 9 to 50 stores, Ruhe India is looking to strengthen its position in the kitchen and bathware fittings market by creating a wider retail network and improving accessibility for consumers across key markets in India.

Non-alcoholic ready-to-drink (RTD) and mixer brand Twisted Tails, owned by RAD Beverages, has expanded its distribution network with a launch on Swiggy Instamart across Mumbai and Bengaluru. The move marks the brand’s entry into quick commerce in the two metro markets and is aimed at increasing accessibility for consumers seeking on-demand beverage options.

The company said the launch strengthens its omnichannel strategy by making its portfolio available for delivery within minutes through the quick commerce platform.

Built around the theme “One for Every Tale,” Twisted Tails offers a range of non-alcoholic beverages developed using real fruit juices and spices, with lower added sugar and no artificial flavouring. The brand positions each variant around a distinct flavour profile and consumer occasion, catering to social gatherings, celebrations, and individual consumption moments.

The expansion comes as consumer demand grows for premium mixers and non-alcoholic beverages that offer unique flavour experiences and convenience. Quick commerce has emerged as a key channel for beverage discovery, particularly among urban consumers seeking instant access to products for home consumption and social occasions.

Twisted Tails currently offers four 250 ml variants priced at Rs 200 each: BIZZARE (Orange & Coffee), MYSTICAL (Vanilla & Caramel), ENIGMATIC (Tea & Jasmine), and UNCANNY (Apricot, Peach, Cinnamon & Clove). According to the company, each product combines familiar ingredients with unconventional pairings to create distinctive flavour experiences.

Radhika Sharda, Co-Founder, RAD Beverages said, "Consumers today think about beverages very differently. They are more curious, discerning, intentional and experimental than ever before. They are looking beyond conventional choices for distinctive flavour experiences, quality ingredients and the flexibility to enjoy beverages in ways that suit their moments and occasions. This insight is what Twisted Tails was built around. Every flavour is designed to evoke an emotion and offer a unique experience while giving consumers the option to enjoy it their way. With the Swiggy Instamart launch in Mumbai and Bengaluru, we can now elevate and be part of these moments more instantly and conveniently than ever before."

Atin Khanna, Co-Founder, RAD Beverages added, "For us, flavour creation goes beyond simply combining ingredients. Every Twisted Tails variant is crafted to deliver a complete sensory experience through taste, aroma, texture and storytelling. Built using real fruit juices, real spices and unexpected flavour pairings, the portfolio is designed to surprise, delight and adapt effortlessly to different occasions and drinking preferences. Our launch on Swiggy Instamart makes it easier than ever for consumers in Mumbai and Bengaluru to access these flavour experiences on demand."

Raghav Sharda, Co-Founder, RAD Beverages said, "Mumbai and Bengaluru are two of India's most exciting cities for food, beverage and lifestyle trends, making them important markets for Twisted Tails. Getting onto Swiggy Instamart is a huge step for our omnichannel growth strategy. It means people in Mumbai and Bengaluru can now grab a Twisted Tails exactly when the craving hits. As we scale, our main goal is simply making it easier for everyone to find and enjoy our drinks."

In addition to Swiggy Instamart, Twisted Tails is available on Blinkit, at Le Marché stores in Delhi, Nature’s Basket outlets across Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Kolkata, as well as through online marketplaces including Amazon and Flipkart, alongside the brand’s direct-to-consumer website.

Footwear Brand Neeman’s Bets on Offline Expansion for Next Growth Phase

Sustainable footwear brand Neeman’s has set a target of achieving Rs 1,000 crore in revenue within the next three years, supported by an aggressive retail expansion strategy that includes building a network of 500 stores across India.

The company reported revenue of more than Rs 185 crore in the previous financial year and expects to close the current fiscal year at around Rs 350 crore by March 2027. As it enters its next phase of growth, Neeman’s is increasing its focus on offline retail while continuing to strengthen its digital-first business model.

The planned store rollout is aimed at expanding the brand’s reach across the country and improving consumer access to its products and in-store experience. Through this expansion, Neeman’s seeks to evolve from a digitally driven footwear brand into a larger national retail player.

Taran Chhabra, Co-founder & CEO, Neeman’s said, “We have always believed that footwear is a deeply personal and everyday category, and that there is an opportunity to redefine what consumers expect from their shoes. Our focus has been to build products that people genuinely love — combining exceptional comfort with great design, versatility and value. Today, Neeman’s is innovating and on course to close this year at Rs 350 crore in revenue. This gives us the confidence to think much bigger. As we build towards Rs 1,000 crore, our ambition is not simply to grow the business, but to build a distinctive Indian footwear brand that earns a place in the everyday lives of millions of consumers.”

The company stated that comfort will continue to be a core element of its product strategy as it competes in the growing footwear market. Neeman’s designs its products for daily wear across multiple occasions, including work, travel, and everyday activities.

Amar Preet Singh, Co-founder & COO, Neeman’s shared, “The ₹1,000 crore ambition represents a very different scale of business, and getting there will require us to build the right foundation across every part of the organisation. From strengthening our product engine and supply chain to investing in technology, retail and execution, we are focused on creating the capabilities that can sustain long-term growth. The 500-store expansion is an important part of that transformation, because it gives us the opportunity to take the Neeman’s experience to consumers across the country while building a stronger national footprint.”

As part of its growth strategy, Neeman’s plans to increase market penetration, expand its product offerings, and invest further in technology, supply chain infrastructure, and retail operations. The company believes these initiatives will play a key role in supporting its long-term revenue goals and strengthening its position in India’s footwear industry.

ORIGEM Launches Flexible Jewellery Upgrade Programme for Consumers

Lab-grown diamond jewellery brand ORIGEM, backed by Goldiam International Limited, has launched a new 110 percent Lifetime Exchange Value proposition, aimed at offering customers greater flexibility and long-term value on their jewellery purchases.

The initiative comes as consumer preferences continue to evolve, with buyers increasingly seeking products that align with changing lifestyles, personal style choices, and long-term value considerations. Through the programme, ORIGEM is seeking to redefine the ownership experience within the diamond jewellery segment by enabling customers to exchange their jewellery over time rather than viewing it as a one-time purchase.

Under the new proposition, customers will receive 110 percent exchange value on the diamond component of their ORIGEM jewellery for life. In addition, the company is offering 100 percent exchange value on the gold component at prevailing gold rates, subject to applicable terms and conditions.

The programme is designed to provide consumers with the flexibility to upgrade or exchange jewellery for different designs, commemorate personal milestones, or select pieces that better reflect their current preferences. The initiative is intended to make jewellery ownership more adaptable while rewarding customers for remaining within the ORIGEM ecosystem.

Anmol Bhansali, Managing Director, Goldiam International Limited said, “The jewellery category has traditionally been built around the idea of permanence, but the consumer is changing. Today, personal style is far more fluid, and people want their purchases to work with the way they live and evolve. With ORIGEM’s 110 percent Lifetime Exchange Value, we are bringing that thinking into jewellery - giving consumers an added sense of confidence & financial security that their choice today will continue to hold value tomorrow. It is a step towards making the category more relevant to how consumers actually think and shop today. This is increasingly relevant in the lab grown diamond space, where we hope to encourage our customers to experiment frequently across a much larger variety of shapes than is otherwise affordable with natural diamonds.”

The company believes the initiative reflects a broader shift in consumer expectations, where buyers are increasingly looking for flexibility and value retention beyond the initial transaction.

Abhinav Kumar, President, ORIGEM shared, “We believe the first purchase should be the beginning of the jewellery journey, not the end of it. Consumers should have the freedom to discover different designs and make new choices without feeling restricted by an earlier purchase. Our lifetime exchange programme is built to enable exactly that, to not just allow, but also to reward upgrading one’s jewellery while making the overall experience of owning Origem diamond jewellery more contemporary and consumer-friendly.”

The launch also highlights ORIGEM’s efforts to differentiate itself in the growing lab-grown diamond jewellery market by focusing on post-purchase value and customer experience. The company said the initiative broadens the conversation around jewellery ownership by emphasizing long-term utility and flexibility in addition to the emotional significance of the purchase.

SKINQ Combines D2C and Offline Retail to Scale Skincare Business in India

Dermatologist-led skincare brand SKINQ is sharpening its growth strategy in India by combining evidence-based formulations, consumer education, and an omnichannel retail approach. The company is positioning itself as a specialized skincare brand focused on the needs of Indian and melanin-rich skin, targeting concerns such as pigmentation, sensitivity, inflammation, acne, skin-barrier repair, and sun exposure.

Co-founded by Ashish Mishra, SKINQ is responding to a growing shift in consumer behavior, where buyers are increasingly paying attention to ingredients, product efficacy, and the scientific research behind skincare formulations. Rather than opting for trend-driven products, consumers are seeking personalized solutions tailored to their individual skin concerns.

According to Mishra, the brand was founded on the belief that skincare should be guided by what the skin genuinely requires instead of following market trends or relying on excessive ingredients.

At the core of SKINQ’s product development strategy is its “Proof over promise” philosophy. The company emphasizes measurable and verifiable product claims, using dermatological expertise and scientific validation to build trust among consumers. This focus on evidence-backed skincare comes as transparency, clinical testing, and formulation credibility become increasingly important purchase drivers in India’s evolving beauty and personal care market.

The Indian skincare sector has become highly competitive, with direct-to-consumer (D2C) brands, global beauty companies, and pharmacy-led skincare players all competing for a growing base of informed consumers. In this environment, brands that can demonstrate efficacy and ingredient transparency are gaining greater attention.

SKINQ believes there is a significant opportunity in developing products specifically designed for Indian and melanin-rich skin. The company notes that skincare has traditionally been approached through a broad, one-size-fits-all lens, despite the unique challenges faced by different skin tones and types. Concerns such as pigmentation, inflammation, and prolonged sun exposure often affect melanin-rich skin differently, creating demand for targeted solutions that prioritize long-term skin health rather than purely cosmetic outcomes.

To build awareness and engage directly with customers, SKINQ has leveraged its D2C platform and social media channels. These platforms have enabled the company to educate consumers about skincare science while also gathering valuable feedback on product performance and customer preferences.

EV Mobility Startup Bounce Partners with ONDC to Scale Delivery Network

Electric mobility company Bounce has announced a partnership with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) to support the growth of India’s open logistics ecosystem through sustainable, electric vehicle-driven last-mile delivery services.

The collaboration comes as ONDC continues to expand its logistics network, which currently includes more than 50 logistics service providers, over 60,000 merchants, 150,000 delivery partners, and facilitates upwards of 12,000 deliveries every day through its interoperable digital infrastructure.

Under the partnership, Bounce will combine its electric mobility and fleet management capabilities with ONDC’s Open Delivery Protocol (ODP) to create a more efficient, scalable, and inclusive logistics ecosystem. The initiative is expected to help merchants, brands, and logistics providers of different sizes participate more seamlessly in digital commerce.

India’s logistics sector remains one of the largest globally, but fragmentation continues to present challenges for businesses seeking dependable third-party delivery solutions at scale. At the same time, smaller fleet operators often face limitations in accessing technology platforms and consistent delivery demand.

ONDC’s Open Delivery Protocol has been developed to address these challenges by enabling merchants to connect with multiple logistics providers through a single integration. The framework allows national logistics companies, regional operators, and independent fleet owners to compete on a common digital infrastructure, reducing integration complexities and improving operational efficiency.

The platform also incorporates features such as intelligent rider allocation and First-In-First-Out (FIFO) order matching, designed to enhance delivery performance, improve fleet utilization, and create additional earning opportunities for delivery partners.

Unlike traditional logistics operators, Bounce manages both vehicle production and fleet operations in-house, enabling greater control over vehicle performance, utilization, and operating costs throughout the delivery process.

Rohit Lohia, Chief Operating Officer, ONDC said, “Neither merchants nor logistics providers should have to go through cumbersome one-on-one integrations. ONDC's Open Delivery Protocol allows businesses to integrate once and access a growing network of logistics providers through common digital infrastructure. Similarly logistics players get access to demand with a single simple integration. Today, more than 60,000 merchants and over 150,000 delivery partners are already leveraging this ecosystem. Partnerships like Bounce further strengthen the network by bringing more logistics capacity, better fleet utilisation and greater choice for businesses across India.”

Vivekananda Hallekere, CEO and Co-founder, Bounce shared, “We've built deep muscle in running complex fleet operations at scale, and now that we manufacture in-house, those two capabilities compound. Everything we do comes down to two things for the rider: put them on a great scooter, and help them earn the best. ONDC gives that capability open rails to run on. Instead of locking our riders inside a walled garden, we plug an entire manufacturer-to-gig-worker operation into an open network, and the fulfilment speed we're seeing is what happens when fleet expertise meets in-house manufacturing on open commerce.”

Bounce currently supports more than 12,000 riders across Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai and the National Capital Region through its platform. The company expects this rider network to expand significantly over the coming year as demand for EV-powered delivery services grows.

Zigly Strengthens Preventive Pet Healthcare with New Annual Dog Care Packages

Zigly Pet Care, an omnichannel pet care brand in India, has introduced a new range of annual dog health packages tailored to different life stages as part of its fifth anniversary celebrations. The plans, designed for puppies, adult dogs and senior dogs, aim to simplify preventive healthcare by combining veterinary, diagnostic and grooming services under a single annual package.

The launch reflects the company’s focus on encouraging structured and proactive pet care at a time when more pet owners are becoming increasingly involved in the health and well-being of their animals. According to Zigly, many pet parents continue to face challenges in keeping track of routine healthcare requirements such as vaccinations, deworming schedules, and regular health assessments when these services are managed separately.

The newly introduced plans are intended to streamline these requirements by bringing together essential healthcare and wellness services based on a dog’s age and needs.

The Puppy Care package, priced at Rs 17,000, includes vaccinations, deworming, a baseline blood panel, diet and nutrition consultation, grooming services, and unlimited veterinary consultations.

The Adult Care package is available at Rs 20,000 and covers annual vaccinations, deworming, blood and urine tests, a chest X-ray, dental examination, grooming services, five nights of boarding, and unlimited vet consultations.

For older pets, the Senior Care package has been priced at Rs 30,000. The plan includes biannual blood and urine tests, ECG and blood pressure monitoring, joint and bone examinations, seven nights of boarding, home sample collection and unlimited veterinary consultations.

Saurabh Jain, CEO, Zigly Pet Care, said, “Completing five years is an important milestone for us, but what matters more is what we have learnt from being part of pet parents’ everyday lives. While pet parents often want to do the right things for their pets, they face challenges in keeping track of everything throughout the year and knowing when something needs attention. We wanted to make that process simpler. These health packages bring important aspects of care into one plan and give pet parents the flexibility to consult a vet whenever they need to. For us, the initiative is about making regular care easier to follow, rather than waiting for a health concern to become urgent.”

A common feature across all three plans is unlimited veterinary consultations, aimed at providing easier access to professional guidance throughout the year. The company believes this will help pet parents address concerns related to changes in behaviour, appetite, activity levels or overall health before they develop into more serious issues.

To improve affordability and accessibility, Zigly has also introduced flexible payment options, allowing customers to pay for the packages over three, six or twelve months.

As part of its fifth anniversary celebrations, the company’s social impact initiative, Zigly Foundation, is organizing feeding drives in Gurgaon and Noida. The foundation plans to distribute 200 kilograms of nutritious food at each location for community dogs, promoting responsible and compassionate care for stray animals.

Recode Studios Enters Quick Commerce Through Nykaa Now

Recode Studios Limited has strengthened its omnichannel retail strategy by entering the quick-commerce segment through Nykaa Now, Nykaa’s 60-minute delivery service. The move will make the company’s beauty and personal care products available to consumers across seven major cities, enabling faster access to its portfolio through rapid delivery.

The expansion builds on Recode’s existing presence on Nykaa’s platform, where the brand has gained traction among beauty shoppers. By joining Nykaa Now, Recode aims to enhance product accessibility while benefiting from an additional consumer touchpoint within the fast-growing quick-commerce ecosystem.

According to the company, the partnership is expected to improve product discovery and convenience for consumers, particularly in urban markets where demand for faster delivery services continues to rise.

A key aspect of the initiative is that Recode’s entry into quick commerce does not require additional investment. The company said it will leverage the supply chain and fulfilment infrastructure already established through its existing relationship with Nykaa, allowing it to scale its presence on Nykaa Now without incremental spending on logistics or infrastructure.

In addition to its quick-commerce expansion, Recode Studios has also strengthened its distribution footprint through Nykaa Superstore, the beauty retailer’s B2B platform. The company expects this channel to support deeper penetration into Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets by connecting with regional retailers and increasing product availability beyond metropolitan cities.

The presence on Nykaa Superstore is also expected to enhance Recode’s offline retail reach by providing access to Nykaa’s established business-to-business distribution network.

Dheeraj Bansal, Chairman & Managing Director, Recode Studios said, “Our focus is to build a wider and more diversified omnichannel distribution network while remaining disciplined on capital deployment and spending. From an established base of omnichannel sales network in FY26, we are expanding our consumer touchpoints across B2B distribution, modern trade, premium kiosks and quick commerce. Our presence on platforms such as Nykaa, Nykaa Superstore and Nykaa Now allows us to leverage established digital, fulfilment and distribution infrastructure without requiring incremental investment in logistics for the quick-commerce channel. At the same time, partnerships with modern trade formats such as NewU and the rollout of premium kiosks are expected to strengthen our physical presence. This expansion is aimed at improving product accessibility across metro as well as Tier II and Tier III markets, increasing consumer touchpoints and strengthening brand visibility. Supported by this broader distribution network, management is targeting revenue growth of around 50% as it scales the business across FY27 and beyond. Our strategy remains focused on achieving this growth through discipline execution, wider market access and a capital-efficient omnichannel model.”

The latest expansion reflects Recode Studios’ broader strategy of building a diversified distribution network across online and offline channels. By combining quick commerce, B2B distribution, modern trade partnerships and physical retail formats, the company aims to strengthen brand visibility and improve accessibility for consumers across different regions of India.

Furlenco’s Revenue Grows 2.6X in Two Years, Profit Touches Rs 59.5 Cr in FY26

Furniture rental platform Furlenco continued its growth momentum in FY26, reporting a significant rise in both revenue and profitability. The Bengaluru-based company posted revenue of over Rs 370 crore and a profit of nearly Rs 60 crore, marking a strong performance two years after Sheela Foam acquired a 35 percent stake in the business.

Furlenco’s revenue from operations rose to Rs 370.43 crore in FY26, compared to Rs 228.74 crore in FY25. Since FY24, when the company reported revenue of Rs 140 crore, its operating income has expanded by more than 2.6 times.

Furlenco offers furniture and home décor rentals along with relocation services. Rental income remained the primary contributor to its business, accounting for 92 percent of operating revenue. Revenue from furniture rental services increased 64 percent year-on-year to Rs 341.07 crore in FY26. Meanwhile, revenue generated through product sales grew 38 percent to Rs 29.36 crore during the same period.

In addition to its core business income, the company earned Rs 4.99 crore from other sources, taking its total income to Rs 375.42 crore in FY26, up from Rs 240.05 crore in the previous fiscal year.

On the expenditure side, Furlenco witnessed a sharp increase in several key cost heads. Depreciation expenses rose 57.5 percent, while finance costs climbed 75.6 percent during the fiscal year. Employee benefit expenses increased 17.1 percent to Rs 36.18 crore, and material costs nearly tripled to Rs 27.01 crore.

The company did not disclose a detailed breakdown of other operating expenses, which were classified under miscellaneous expenses. These costs increased 34.4 percent to Rs 181.04 crore in FY26 from Rs 134.7 crore a year earlier. As a result, Furlenco’s total expenditure grew 45.1 percent year-on-year to Rs 343.85 crore.

Despite the increase in costs, revenue growth significantly outpaced expenditure expansion, leading to a substantial improvement in profitability. The company’s profit surged to Rs 59.52 crore in FY26 from Rs 3.11 crore in FY25, representing a nearly 19-fold increase.

Furlenco also reported strong gains in operational efficiency. Its EBITDA nearly doubled to Rs 129.5 crore during the fiscal year, while EBITDA margin improved to 35.01 percent. Return on Capital Employed (ROCE) rose to 13.17 percent from 5.37 percent in the previous year.

The company further strengthened its financial position, spending Rs 0.93 to generate every rupee of operating revenue compared to Rs 1.03 in FY25. Cash and bank balances more than doubled to Rs 75 crore, while total current assets increased 67.9 percent to Rs 178 crore by the end of FY26.

D2C Skincare Brand Plum Delivers Robust FY26 Growth with Revenue Crossing Rs 500 Cr

Plum, a direct-to-consumer beauty and personal care brand, reported a strong financial performance in FY26, with revenue surpassing the Rs 500 crore mark and profits nearly doubling amid growing consolidation in India’s D2C beauty sector.

Revenue from operations increased 28 percent year-on-year to Rs 515 crore in FY26, compared to Rs 402 crore in the previous fiscal.

Established in 2013, Plum offers a range of skincare, bodycare, fragrances, haircare and gifting products. The brand sells through its own digital platform as well as leading e-commerce marketplaces including Amazon, Nykaa and Flipkart.

Product sales remained the company’s sole source of operating revenue during the year. In addition, Plum generated Rs 14.3 crore through interest income and gains from mutual fund investments, taking its total income to Rs 529.3 crore in FY26.

The company continued to invest significantly in brand building and customer acquisition. Advertising and promotional expenses rose more than 32 percent to Rs 184.4 crore during the fiscal year, making it the largest component of its expenditure. Material consumption costs also increased 28 percent to Rs 184.4 crore, while employee benefit expenses grew 12 percent to Rs 47.6 crore.

Plum also incurred expenses related to warehousing, commissions, transportation, legal services, and other operational activities. As a result, the company’s total expenditure stood at Rs 481 crore in FY26.

Driven by robust revenue growth, Plum’s profitability improved considerably during the year. Net profit rose to Rs 49 crore in FY26 from Rs 25 crore in FY25, reflecting nearly twofold growth. The company spent Rs 0.93 for every rupee earned from operating revenue during the fiscal year.

The improved financial performance was also visible across key profitability indicators. Plum reported an EBITDA margin of 8.12 percent in FY26, while its Return on Capital Employed (ROCE) increased to 13.2 percent. The company closed the fiscal year with current assets worth Rs 305.6 crore, including Rs 92 crore in cash and bank balances.

Over the years, Plum has secured more than $50 million in funding through multiple investment rounds. Its largest funding round came in March 2022, when it raised $35 million in a Series C round led by A91 Partners, with participation from existing investors Unilever Ventures and Faering Capital.

The company operates in India’s highly competitive D2C beauty and personal care market, where it competes with brands such as Juicy Chemistry, WOW Skin Science, Mamaearth and SUGAR Cosmetics.

E-commerce Startup DealShare Considers Acquisition Amid Leadership Exits and Business Contraction

DealShare, the e-commerce platform known for selling groceries and household essentials, is reportedly evaluating acquisition opportunities with online pharmacy platform TrueMeds and seafood and meat retailer Captain Fresh as it seeks a path forward amid prolonged business challenges.

Discussions between DealShare and both potential acquirers are currently underway. However, no definitive agreement has been reached. Sources indicated that if neither transaction progresses, the company could be forced to discontinue its operations.

DealShare is effectively at a point where it has two options: find a buyer or shut down. The discussions with TrueMeds are more advanced than those with Captain Fresh, but nothing has been finalised yet.

Over the past few years, the company’s business has contracted significantly following declining revenues and multiple restructuring efforts.

DealShare does not have much of a business left to acquire. If the deal goes through, it would largely be a money-transfer transaction rather than TrueMeds buying a meaningful e-commerce business.

TrueMeds and DealShare share a common investor in WestBridge Capital, which could potentially support ongoing discussions between the companies. Captain Fresh, meanwhile, has been pursuing growth through acquisitions and expansion across the fresh food and retail sectors. The company also shares investor connections with DealShare through Matrix Partners India, now rebranded as Z47.

DealShare has faced mounting operational pressures in recent years. During FY24, the company reportedly laid off more than 100 employees and exited its B2B business segment as part of a restructuring initiative. Despite these measures, revenue continued to decline.

Financial filings show that gross revenue from operations fell 13.4 percent to Rs 432 crore in FY25, down from Rs 499 crore in FY24 and Rs 1,963 crore in FY23. While the company succeeded in reducing losses to Rs 87.65 crore in FY25 from Rs 167 crore a year earlier, it has yet to file its FY26 financial results.

Founded as a social commerce and value-focused e-commerce platform, DealShare achieved unicorn status in January 2022 and has raised approximately $393 million from investors including Tiger Global, ADIA, Alpha Wave and Kora Investment. Its last significant funding round was a $45 million investment from ADIA, secured at a valuation of $1.7 billion shortly after the company entered the unicorn club.

Aqualogica Expands Beyond Hydration to Strengthen Honasa Consumer Portfolio

Digital-first skincare brand Aqualogica is increasingly emerging as a key growth engine within Honasa Consumer’s beauty and personal care portfolio. Known initially for its hydration-centric offerings, the brand has expanded its product portfolio with ingredient-driven skincare solutions tailored for Indian skin types and tropical climatic conditions, supporting the company's ambitions in the premium skincare segment.

Over time, Aqualogica has transitioned from being primarily a hydration-focused brand to a broader skincare platform addressing multiple consumer concerns. Its portfolio now includes category-specific ranges such as Radiance+, Detan+, Illuminate+, Barrier+, and Bright+, each formulated with active ingredients including Niacinamide, Alpha Arbutin, Ceramides, Kojic Acid complexes, Avocado Oil, and various botanical extracts.

The brand’s expansion mirrors Honasa Consumer’s broader focus on scaling high-growth beauty categories. According to the company, its priority categories now contribute more than 75 percent of overall revenue. Alongside flagship brands such as Mamaearth and The Derma Co., Aqualogica is becoming an increasingly important contributor to this category-led growth strategy.

The development comes amid improving financial performance for Honasa Consumer. The company has reported gains in profitability, positive EBITDA, and consistent revenue growth while continuing to invest in product innovation, distribution expansion, and premium beauty offerings.

At a broader portfolio level, Honasa Consumer continues to strengthen its position as a digital-first house of beauty and personal care brands. While Mamaearth remains the company’s largest brand, emerging businesses such as The Derma Co. and Aqualogica are playing a growing role in driving premiumisation and category diversification.

The Derma Co. has already surpassed a Rs 750 crore annual revenue run rate and was recognized by Euromonitor as India’s No. 1 sunscreen brand for CY2024, underscoring the company’s expanding footprint in science-led skincare.

D2C Brand Wakefit Posts Strong Q1 FY27 Results Driven by Omnichannel Growth

D2C home and sleep solutions brand Wakefit posted growth in both revenue and profitability during the first quarter of FY27, supported by continued expansion of its offline retail network and improved operational efficiency.

For the quarter ended June 2026, the company reported operating revenue of Rs 404.9 crore, registering a 17 percent year-on-year increase. Profit after tax (PAT) rose 19 percent to Rs 23.4 crore during the same period. On a sequential basis, however, profit was lower compared to the previous quarter, primarily due to increased tax expenses following the deferred tax credit benefit recorded in the fourth quarter of FY26.

Wakefit also recorded an improvement in its operating metrics. Operating EBITDA grew 50 percent year-on-year to Rs 36.8 crore, while EBITDA margin expanded to 9.1 percent from 7.1 percent in the corresponding quarter last year, reflecting stronger cost management and business efficiency.

The company's offline retail business continued to play a significant role in driving growth. During the quarter, Wakefit added 27 company-owned and company-operated (COCO) stores, helping its retail business grow 21 percent year-on-year.

With the latest additions, the company's store network increased to 165 outlets, compared to 138 stores in the preceding quarter. The expansion is part of Wakefit's broader strategy to strengthen its omnichannel presence and complement its digital-first operations with a larger physical retail footprint.

According to Executive Director Chaitanya Ramalingegowda, the company remains on course to open nearly 80 COCO stores during FY27 as part of its ongoing expansion plans.

To support this growth strategy, Wakefit has allocated between Rs 100 crore and Rs 120 crore in capital expenditure for the current financial year. Approximately 80 percent of the investment will be directed toward retail expansion, particularly larger-format jumbo stores, while the remaining funds will be used for manufacturing automation and operational enhancements.

Deepinder Goyal's Temple eyes Rs 4,785 crore valuation, prices first wearable at around Rs 80,000

Founder of Eternal, Deepinder Goyal's healthtech startup Temple is eyeing to raise fresh capital at a valuation of approximately USD 500 million (Rs 4,785 crore), while pricing its first wearable device at around Rs 80,000.

Reports suggest that the price is still suggestive and will include lifetime access to Temple's software platform. Goyal is also offering its customers with a lifetime supply of the adhesive tapes used to attach the pebble-shaped deice to the side of the forehead, near the temple.

As opposed to smartwatches and rings that capture signals from the wrist or finger, Temple's aim is to get a richer source of physiological data from the temple region of the head.

The startup is positioning the wearable around healthy ageing and longevity, arguing that measurements taken from the temple could reveal physiological insights beyond conventional metrics such as heart rate.

This device is expected to be targeted initially at high-performance athletes, professionals and health-conscious consumers willing to pay a premium for continuous metabolic and recovery data.

Earlier this year, Temple raised approximately USD 54 million at a valuation of around USD 190 million. If the proposed funding round is completed at USD 500 million, then it would be more than double the startup's valuation within months.

D2C Dairy Brand Doodhvale Farms Raises USD 1 Mn Funding

Doodhvale Farms, a direct-to-consumer dairy and daily essentials brand, has raised USD 1 million in a follow-on funding round from existing investor Atomic Capital Fund I.

The latest investment comes after the company secured USD 3 million in a Series A round co-led by Atomic Capital and Singularity Early Opportunities Fund in November 2024.

The startup said the fresh capital will be used to expand into new markets, strengthen distribution in existing regions, and support product development. It also plans to invest in AI and technology to enhance demand forecasting and route optimisation.

Founded by Aman J Jain, Doodhvale Farms operates a vertically integrated business model, delivering dairy products and daily essentials directly to consumers. It currently serves customers across Delhi-NCR, Chandigarh, Ambala, Karnal and Meerut, while also shipping products such as ghee and wood-pressed oils across India.

According to the company, its direct-to-consumer segment nearly doubled over the past year, contributing to overall revenue growth of about 65 percent. D2C sales now account for nearly 90 percent of its revenue, while value-added products contribute around 35 percent.

The company has also expanded its portfolio beyond dairy into protein-based products and household staples, including atta and oils. It aims to further scale operations and enter new cities over the next 12 to 18 months.

Fizzy Goblet Onboards Kareena Kapoor Khan as Strategic Investor to Fuel Growth Plans

D2C footwear and accessories brand Fizzy Goblet has appointed Kareena Kapoor Khan as a strategic investor, nearly four years after bringing her on board as its brand ambassador in April 2022. The development comes as Fizzy Goblet accelerates its expansion across India through both offline and online channels while pursuing international growth opportunities.

With the new role, Kareena Kapoor Khan's association with the brand extends beyond marketing. She will contribute to the company's design selection process and support efforts to enhance brand visibility across domestic and global markets.

Founded in 2013 by Laksheeta Govil, Fizzy Goblet designs and manufactures footwear and accessories in India. Initially known for traditional footwear such as juttis and kolhapuris, the company has since expanded its portfolio to include heels, loafers, sneakers, workwear, comfort sliders, handbags and potlis.

The brand currently sells through its own website and operates 16 company-owned retail stores across India.

Fizzy Goblet said it is operating at an annual revenue run rate of approximately Rs 60 crore and aims to cross Rs 100 crore in annual revenue run rate over the next year. The company also exports its products to international markets, including the United States, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, Canada, and Australia.

The announcement reflects a broader trend of celebrities taking on long-term strategic roles in consumer startups, with investments increasingly replacing traditional endorsement-only partnerships.

Premium shapewear brand Underneat, founded by creator Kusha Kapila and fashion industry veteran Vimarsh Razdan, has reported an annual recurring revenue (ARR) of Rs 200 crore within 12 months of its launch, positioning itself among India's fastest-growing direct-to-consumer (D2C) brands.

Launched in April 2025, the company said it has served more than 6.5 lakh customers and sold over 9 lakh units across its shapewear, innerwear, and accessories portfolio. Following its online growth, Underneat is now preparing to expand its presence through offline retail.

According to the company, its offline strategy will be guided by consumer insights collected from its D2C business, including purchasing patterns, regional demand, sizing preferences, and category trends. The brand plans to enter physical retail through a combination of its own store formats and partnerships with marketplace retailers.

Underneat also said it has recorded more than 7.86 lakh customer conversations and received over 23,000 verified reviews, while maintaining a customer satisfaction score of 93 percent.

Vimarsh Razdan, Co-founder & CEO, Underneat said, "India's innerwear category has been underloved for decades with assumptions about what women want. What Underneat has proven in 12 months is that when you close that gap with the right product and genuine consumer trust, the market responds at a pace that even surprises us. ₹200 Crore ARR is a validation of the model, but it's also a signal of how large the opportunity still is."

Co-founder Kusha Kapila added, "The conversations we had before we even launched told us everything about fit, about frustration, about how consistently the category had let Indian women down. We built Underneat as an answer to all of that, and the response has been humbling. Six lakh women choosing us in year one isn't just a number; it's a measure of trust we take very seriously."

Underneat also said it has recorded more than 7.86 lakh customer conversations and received over 23,000 verified reviews, while maintaining a customer satisfaction score of 93 percent.

[Funding Alert] Nothing Before Coffee Secures Rs 3.7 Cr Investor Backing

Jaipur-based coffee chain Nothing Before Coffee has received investment commitments during its appearance on the startup show Bharat Ke Super Founders. The brand secured two offers from investors as it continues to expand its presence across India.

Aditya Singh, Founder of All In Capital, offered Rs 50 lakh for 0.27 percent equity in the company. In addition, a structured market offer of Rs 3.2 crore was proposed in the form of debt with a 12 percent revenue share. The investor panel for the show included Dr. A. Velumani, Nitish Mittersain, and Shanti Mohan.

Founded in 2017 by Akshay Kedia, Ankesh Jain, Anand Jain, and Shubham Bhandari, Nothing Before Coffee operates more than 100 outlets across over 39 cities in 12 states. The brand focuses largely on Tier II and Tier III markets. The company reports gross margins of 65 percent at the store level and EBITDA margins of 28 percent at mature outlets. According to the company, all of its stores are EBITDA positive.

Nothing Before Coffee follows a vertically integrated supply chain model. Coffee beans are sourced from Chikmagalur, roasted in-house at the company’s Jaipur facility, and distributed through a centralised warehouse network.

Akshay Kedia said, “Our journey has always been about taking premium coffee to the heart of India, beyond metros, into the cities where young India is discovering its love for quality brews. The response to Bharat Ke Super Founders validates what we've built: a brand with strong unit economics, deep consumer connects, and a clear vision for profitable scale. We're building more than a coffee chain; we're building a community hub for aspirational India. With a clear roadmap to 400 stores by 2029. We're excited to accelerate from here and emerge as India's 'Most Loved Coffee Café Brand'.”

Ankesh Jain, Co-Founder, Nothing Before Coffee added, “Our appearance on Bharat Ke Super Founders was a pivotal moment for us, not just for the investment validation, but for affirming that our thesis of building for Bharat is exactly where the future of consumption lies. At Nothing Before Coffee, we've always believed that great coffee shouldn't be a metro-only luxury. The response from the investors and the viewership reinforces that our disciplined approach, profitable unit economics, 100 percent EBITDA positive stores, and a deep connect with young India is the right formula for sustainable national scale.”

The company plans to expand its network to 160 stores by December 2026 and has set a long-term target of reaching 400 outlets by 2029. Most of the upcoming locations are expected to operate under a Company Owned Company Operated model.

As part of its growth strategy, the brand has also introduced the Super Coffee Pass, a subscription priced at Rs 1,799 offering benefits worth Rs 3,600. The company is also focusing on app-based engagement, product innovation, and improvements in its supply chain operations.

With hot coffee priced at approximately $1, the brand is positioning itself as an affordable coffee option for consumers in markets beyond major metro cities.

Farmley Nears Rs 400 Cr Revenue in FY25 with Improved Financials

Farmley, the healthy snacking brand, recorded a significant improvement in its financial performance in the fiscal year ending March 2025—a momentum that helped the company secure its $40 million funding round at the beginning of FY26. The brand saw strong topline expansion and tighter cost discipline, with operating revenue rising sharply and losses narrowing despite continued scale-up. Revenue from operations jumped 71 percent to Rs 394 crore in FY25, up from Rs 230 crore in FY24.

Founded in 2017 by Akash Sharma and Abhishek Agarwal, Farmley sells a wide range of healthy snack products, including makhana-based snacks, date bites, roasted nuts, trail mixes, and seeds. The company’s entire FY25 revenue came from the sale of these snacking products. Its total income grew to Rs 396 crore, from Rs 231 crore in the previous fiscal.

On the expense front, cost of materials remained the largest cost component, forming 67 percent of total expenditure. This cost increased 57 percent to Rs 281 crore in FY25, up from Rs 178.5 crore in FY24. Meanwhile, advertising and promotional spending doubled to Rs 52 crore. Employee costs rose 69 percent to Rs 27 crore, and logistics spending increased 54 percent to Rs 20 crore during the year.

Overall, Farmley’s total expenses rose 63 percent to Rs 419 crore in FY25, compared with Rs 257 crore in FY24.

Even with this rise in spending, the company’s strong revenue growth helped reduce losses. Net loss declined 15 percent to Rs 22.5 crore in FY25, down from Rs 26.5 crore in the previous year. The firm’s ROCE improved to -51.56 percent, while EBITDA margin strengthened to -3.68 percent.

At a unit economics level, Farmley spent Rs 1.06 to generate every rupee of operating revenue in FY25—an improvement from Rs 1.12 in FY24. The company closed FY25 with current assets of Rs 163 crore and cash and bank balances of Rs 22 crore.

Farmley has raised $55 million to date, including the recent $40 million Series C round led by L Catterton. Co-founders Akash Sharma and Abhishek Agarwal collectively hold a 52 percent stake in the business.

The healthy snacking sector—also covering dry fruits such as almonds and cashews—has seen strong momentum, fuelled by rising consumer awareness and higher disposable incomes. Farmley appears to have secured meaningful distribution partnerships across quick-commerce and other retail channels, which have contributed to its revenue surge. However, such channels may pressure margins, making future financial outcomes worth watching closely.

Loca Loka joins India’s rising tequila wave

Loca Loka, co-founded by Sree Harsha Vadlamudi, Rana Daggubati and Anirudh Ravichander, has entered India’s premium spirits market as demand for agave-based products continues to climb. The brand launched internationally in late 2024 across the US and Southeast Asia and has since expanded distribution across several global markets. India will now see the introduction of its Blanco and Reposado variants.

Created in India and produced in Jalisco, the brand brings together Mexican distillation practices and Indian creative influence. Loca Loka has built visibility in duty-free and export markets and has also earned recognition at major international competitions. Its debut in India reflects a focused expansion into urban retail and on-trade environments.

To mark its entry, the brand hosted an invite-only tasting where the founders spoke about the tequila’s profile and production approach. Guests sampled serves highlighting the Blanco’s agave-forward character and the Reposado’s barrel influence, presented for both neat consumption and cocktail applications. The launch also included curated experiences in Delhi and Mumbai designed around the brand’s visual identity, developed with mixologists and technologists.

Loca Loka Blanco and Reposado, which were awarded medals at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2025, New York International Spirits Competition, Miami World Spirits Competition and the WSWA Wine and Spirits Tasting Competition in Denver, will be available in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad, along with airport duty-free outlets. The rollout aligns with India’s expanding tequila segment, which is projected to exceed USD 76 million in 2025.

Sree Harsha Vadlamudi said, “Loca Loka is a business built on craft and clarity that ranges from sustainable agave sourcing to barrel strategy and global placement. India is a market that’s shifting to premium, and our rollout is designed to meet that shift with measured distribution and trade partnerships that respect the category.”

Commenting on the launch, Rana Daggubati said, “Storytelling is the spine of this brand because it’s not just a bottle, it’s a cultural remix. Loca Loka lets us celebrate two worlds at once: Mexico’s terroir and India’s colour and rhythm. The launch will be a narrative in motion.”

Anirudh Ravichander added, “The first sip tells you what careful distillation and intelligent maturation can do. Our Blanco and Reposado are crafted to deliver clear agave expression with layered subtleties making them bottles that perform both on the rocks and in signature cocktails. And here’s a little secret: the yeasts actually ferment better with music. This time, they worked to a playlist of my own tracks. Let’s just say the tasting notes might hit a few unexpected high notes.”

Master distiller Willy Bañuelos Ramírez, who oversees production in Jalisco, noted, “Bringing Loca Loka to India feels like the most natural next chapter in our journey. India has an instinctive appreciation for craftsmanship, purity, and flavour, qualities at the heart of our 100 percent agave tequila. Watching Indian consumers explore tequila with such curiosity and confidence is exciting for us as distillers. With Loca Loka, we’re creating a new conversation between Mexico’s agave heritage and India’s evolving, adventurous palate. This launch is a cultural crossover we’re proud to pour.”

The India launch arrives at a time when the category is expanding. The Indian tequila market reached USD 600.1 million in 2024 and is expected to grow to USD 1.68 billion by 2033 at a CAGR of 12.1 percent. Agave-based spirits in India grew by 36 percent by volume in 2024.

Loca Loka plans to support its India rollout with B2B partnerships across premium bars, hotels and duty-free retail. The brand will also conduct curated tastings and market activations through 2026, reinforcing its position in the premium spirits landscape.

Honasa Consumer Launches Night Skincare Brand Luminéve on Nykaa

Honasa Consumer Limited, the parent company of brands like Mamaearth and The Derma Co has announced its entry into the prestige skincare segment with the launch of a new brand, Luminéve. The brand, which is created specifically for night-time use, is debuting exclusively on the e-commerce platform Nykaa. bi

Luminéve is built around the concept of the skin's natural nocturnal repair cycle and circadian rhythm. The brand introduces a "night-first" approach to skincare, with formulations designed to work in sync with the body's biology. The core idea is that the skin behaves differently at night, when it shifts from a defensive mode to a repair and regeneration mode. During this period, the skin's barrier strengthens, cell turnover accelerates, and it becomes more receptive to treatments.

At the heart of the brand's formulations is a proprietary blend called the Advanced NightRenew Complex. This complex contains a mix of actives and botanicals such as Collagen, Peptides, Niacinamide, and Polyglutamic Acid, which are encapsulated for a time-release delivery. This technology is designed to release the active ingredients in sync with the skin’s natural rhythm throughout the night.

Ghazal Alagh, Co-Founder and Chief Innovation Officer at Honasa Consumer Limited said, “Night skincare has long been treated as an extension of day routines, but the skin doesn’t follow our convenience; it follows its own biology. During the day, the skin is in defence mode, shielding itself from stressors. At night, it shifts into repair and regeneration mode, it absorbs better, loses more moisture and responds most effectively to targeted treatment. Luminéve is built to respect this science. It is purposeful, precise and designed for the time when skin naturally repairs the most, across different skin types.”

Luminéve is launching with a curated collection of clinically tested night moisturizers tailored to six distinct skin types. The range also includes overnight serums that feature India’s first Liposomal Technology with ingredients like Vitamin C, Niacinamide, Retinol, and Salicylic Acid. This technology is intended to help the active ingredients absorb more effectively through the night while remaining gentle on the skin.

The products were developed by Honasa’s in-house R&D team in collaboration with Korean formulation experts and a global dermatologist, ensuring that the formulations are both high-performance and suitable for Indian skin. The decision to launch exclusively on Nykaa is a strategic one, as the platform is a key destination for consumers seeking premium and prestige beauty products.

With this launch, Honasa aims to strengthen its presence in the fast-growing prestige skincare category. The brand is catering to a segment of consumers who are increasingly looking for science-backed, intentional routines and are influenced by dermatological recommendations. The products will be available at a price range of Rs 1499 to Rs 1799, positioning Luminéve firmly in the premium-to-prestige space.

Indo Count Revives Iconic Wamsutta Brand with D2C Launch in the U.S.

Indo Count Global, the U.S. subsidiary of Indo Count Industries Ltd. (ICIL), has announced the strategic relaunch of Wamsutta, one of America’s most recognized legacy home textile brands, as a direct-to-consumer (D2C) platform. The brand’s premium bedding and bath collections are now exclusively available on its D2C website in the United States.

This relaunch follows Indo Count’s acquisition of Wamsutta from Beyond, Inc. in April 2024 and is part of the company’s broader strategy to strengthen its presence in the U.S. premium home textiles market. The move signifies Indo Count’s shift towards owning customer relationships directly, with a focus on digital-first distribution and consumer engagement.

“Wamsutta has always stood for superior quality and comfort that endures. Now, with refreshed branding, premium positioning, and a direct-to-consumer approach, we are connecting with a new generation of consumers while continuing to honour the brand's legacy and deepen our relationship with longtime loyal customers who have trusted Wamsutta for decades,” said Mohit Jain, Executive Vice Chairman of Indo Count Industries.

The newly launched  D2C website offers a curated collection of premium products that emphasize quality, simplicity, and timeless aesthetics. The D2C model allows Indo Count to connect directly with consumers, gather real-time insights, and adapt its offerings swiftly in response to market feedback. It also strengthens the company’s ability to build long-term brand equity through digital storytelling and customer engagement.

The Wamsutta relaunch also aligns with Indo Count’s continued focus on premiumization and sustainability. The company recently achieved a Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) score of 66 in 2024, placing it among the top 10% in the global Textile, Apparel & Luxury Goods sector—well above the industry average of 30. Indo Count has also earned multiple awards for its sustainable manufacturing practices and maintains strong financial ratings, including ICRA AA- and CARE AA- for long-term facilities and A1+ for short-term credit.

By reintroducing Wamsutta as a digitally native brand, Indo Count seeks to reinvigorate a legacy name with modern relevance. The D2C model will play a pivotal role in creating personalized customer journeys, deepening engagement, and driving agile product development—all of which are key to scaling the brand’s growth in today’s competitive U.S. home textile market.

The relaunch represents more than just a brand refresh—it’s a strategic move to anchor Indo Count’s ambition of becoming a dominant player in the global premium and branded home textiles space.

The company reported consolidated revenue of Rs. 584 crore, reflecting a 16 percent year-on-year growth. Its brand revenue saw a sharp 37 percent rise to Rs. 417 crore, driven by expanding market presence and growing consumer demand. Gross margins improved to 19.8 percent from 17.6 percent in FY24, while EBITDA rose by 8 percent to Rs. 12.9 crore. Despite doubling its investments in brand building, the company registered a 3 percent increase in profit after tax (PAT) at Rs. 7.4 crore, with earnings per share (EPS) standing at Rs. 21.40.

“FY25 was a defining year for ProV — one in which ambition translated into execution. We expanded, innovated, invested, and delivered. We remain steadfast in our mission to become a Rs. 1000 Cr brand by FY28, backed by quality, scale, and consumer trust,” shared Durga Prasad Jhawar, Managing Director, Proventus Agrocom Ltd.

The company’s brand-first strategy led to a sixfold growth in brand sales over the last three years, with over two crore product pouches sold during FY25—a testament to strong consumer adoption. These results came alongside a significant increase in brand-building investments, underscoring the company’s commitment to long-term market leadership.

ProV also continued strengthening its operational and manufacturing capabilities. It is currently on track to commission a fourfold capacity expansion at its Surat facility, increasing output from 1.5 lakh to 4 lakh pouches per day. Operational efficiencies remained strong, with a 97 percent On-Time In-Full (OTIF) delivery rate. Additionally, the company focused on enhancing its leadership team, onboarding 22 key hires across sales, marketing, and operations to support its next phase of growth.

The company saw notable gains across its distribution channels. Modern trade accounted for 46 percent of total brand sales, up from 34 percent in the previous year. Quick commerce (Q-Commerce) operations were launched, and e-commerce grew by 32 percent year-on-year. General trade also saw significant expansion, with the company’s footprint now covering more than 15,000 outlets across India.

In terms of product innovation, FY25 witnessed the launch of several new SKUs, including premium dates, chocolate-coated nuts, and gifting packs. These offerings aligned with ProV’s focus on premiumisation and health-forward snacking formats. The brand now boasts a robust portfolio of over 175 SKUs across six product lines, catering to a wide spectrum of consumers.

Looking ahead, ProV’s strategic focus for FY26 includes deepening its general trade presence in Tier II and Tier III towns, scaling its Q-Commerce and direct-to-consumer (D2C) channels, and continuing to innovate with new product formats and seasonal ranges. The company also plans to strengthen its leadership team further and digitise operations to drive greater efficiency. On the marketing front, it aims to optimise media spends, enhance brand storytelling, and expand sampling initiatives to deepen consumer engagement.

“With a brand-first strategy, a high-performing team, and investments in infrastructure and innovation, we are building a future-ready business. FY25 was about delivery. FY26 is about scale — with purpose, profitability, and precision,”  stated Durga Prasad.

As Proventus Agrocom accelerates its momentum, the results of FY25 underline its strong foundation and commitment to building a scalable, consumer-centric brand in India’s fast-growing health and wellness sector.

Retail India News: Haier Appliances India Set to Surpass $1 Bn Revenue in 2024

Haier Appliances India is poised to achieve a significant milestone in 2024, surpassing $1 billion in revenue, driven by robust summer sales, festive demand, and the ongoing trend of premiumisation, according to the company’s President, N.S. Satish. The company is targeting revenue of Rs. 11,500 crore in 2025, after projecting ₹8,900 crore for 2024.

“2024 has been one of the best years we ever had, with a growth of 35 percent. We will be a one-billion-dollar company this year. Next year, our target is Rs. 11,500 crore,” Satish shared.

Haier operates on a January-December financial cycle and attributes this rapid growth to strong performances across all categories, especially LED TVs and washing machines. The rising trend of premiumisation has boosted average selling prices, contributing to Haier’s fastest growth rate in the appliances sector.

Despite this success, Satish highlighted India’s low market penetration compared to global benchmarks, presenting vast growth opportunities. “The Indian market offers a huge opportunity, and we are addressing it by aligning our products accordingly,” he stated. Haier aims to differentiate itself through India-specific innovations and unique offerings in segments such as refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, and LED TVs.

The company is also diversifying into commercial air conditioning and kitchen appliances, segments experiencing rapid growth. “We are still setting up our basic infrastructure for these products, including manufacturing and after-sales services, which need to be strong,” Satish explained.

Haier has already invested Rs. 2,500 crore in India and plans to establish a third manufacturing facility in southern India by 2026 or 2027. “We have started scouting for land. Discussions and proposals are underway,” said Satish. The new facility will serve both domestic and export markets.

In addition, the Greater Noida plant is undergoing expansion under Phase II, adding backward integration capabilities such as injection molding and sheet manufacturing.

India is Haier Group’s third-largest market globally, after China and the U.S., where it competes with brands like Samsung, Panasonic, Whirlpool, Bosch, and local players such as Godrej and Voltas.

Retail India News: Technosport Expands South India Operations, Targets 16 New Stores in FY24

Technosport, the Tiruppur-based sportswear brand, is poised for significant growth in South India, with plans to launch 15-16 new stores across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana during the current financial year. This ambitious expansion strategy reflects the brand’s commitment to enhancing its footprint and making its high-quality sportswear and athleisure products more accessible to customers in these regions.

The new stores will be opened in a variety of formats, including flagship locations, high-street, and mall stores, as well as shop-in-shop outlets. This diversified approach aims to cater to different consumer preferences and shopping environments, ensuring that Technosport's offerings reach a broader audience. By targeting key locations across South India, the brand is positioning itself to capitalize on the growing demand for performance wear and athleisure in these states.

Technosport inaugurated its first offline store in Coimbatore on Thursday. Located in R.S. Puram, the store spans over 1,000 sq. ft. and showcases the brand’s full range of performance and athleisure wear.

“We are elated to launch our first flagship store in Coimbatore, which has always been a key city for TechnoSport’s growth. This store will be the cornerstone of our wider business expansion plan,” said Sunil Jhunjhunwala, co-founder of TechnoSport.

To attract customers and encourage foot traffic, the brand will host a series of small events at the newly launched store.

“Apart from the business perspective, we aim to showcase a larger-than-life experience of our products to consumers. Using this we will strengthen our omni-channel presence by amalgamating online with offline medium effectively,” said Puspen Maity, chief executive officer of TechnoSport.

Looking ahead, the company plans to enter the markets in West and North India by FY26.

Founded in 2015, Technosport offers a wide range of products, including t-shirts, track pants, jackets, vests, sweatshirts, and innerwear, typically priced between Rs 200 and Rs 700. The brand is currently present in over 15 states and maintains more than 5,000 retailer touchpoints.

In May this year, the apparel retailer secured Rs 175 crore in funding from A91 Partners.

{Funding Alert} Moxie Beauty Secures Rs. 17.3 Cr Funding Led by Fireside Ventures

Gurugram-based D2C haircare brand Moxie Beauty has successfully raised Rs. 17.3 crore (USD 2.1 million) in a funding round led by Fireside Ventures. The round also saw contributions from a distinguished group of angel investors, including Samir Singh (former Unilever CMO Personal Care and Chair Unilever Asia), Arjun Purkayastha (Regional CEO at a leading MNC), Suhasini Sampath (Founder of Yoga Bar), and Navin Parwal and Sangeet Agrawal (Founders of Mokobara).

Founded in November 2023 by Nikita Khanna and Anmol Ahlawat, Moxie Beauty specializes in salon-quality hair care products designed specifically for Indian hair textures. The brand's offerings include shampoos, conditioners, leave-in products, and styling solutions aimed at addressing dryness and frizz.

“India is not on the R&D roadmap for most global brands - they don’t formulate their products for Indian hair types, weather, or habits, which are very different from Western ones. For so long we have been taught to see our hair as ‘unruly’ and ‘unmanageable’ – but there is no such thing as bad hair, only unsuitable routines that were not made for us. Moxie’s mission is to empower people with the right products, tools, and knowledge to care for and feel confident in their natural hair texture,” said Nikita Khanna.

Khanna, an MBA from XLRI, was previously a consultant at McKinsey & Company, while Ahlawat, an MBA from FMS, held the position of General Manager at Paytm.

“We are very excited to partner with Moxie Beauty. It ties in well with our fund thesis of investing in purposeful brands that are innovating for the new Indian consumer. Moxie’s approach to building products suited for Indians who have wavy, frizzy and curly hair is a refreshing innovation in the large and growing hair care and beauty space,” shared Dipanjan Basu, Co-Founder and Partner at Fireside Ventures.

The newly acquired funds will be directed toward product innovation and research, talent acquisition, and expanding distribution channels. With its focus on innovative products and a mission to empower consumers, Moxie Beauty aims to capture a significant share of India’s USD 5 billion haircare market.

{Funding Alert} Newme Secures $18 Mn in Series A Funding

Gen Z-focused fashion-tech startup Newme has successfully raised $18 million in Series A funding, spearheaded by venture capital firm Accel, with significant participation from existing investors such as Fireside Ventures and AUM Ventures. This fresh infusion of capital is set to fuel the company's ambitious growth plans and further cement its position in the burgeoning fashion-tech industry in India.

“With this investment, we are well-positioned to accelerate our growth and empower a whole new generation of fashion-conscious consumers in India. We are dedicated to addressing the dual-fold challenge of design relevance and evolving shopping preferences with precision and insight,” said Sumit Jasoria, co-founder, Newme.

The newly acquired funds will be strategically utilized to enhance the brand’s omnichannel presence, establish a robust network of offline stores, and optimize its tech-driven supply chain. This move aims to create a seamless shopping experience for consumers, blending the convenience of online shopping with the tactile satisfaction of in-store purchases.

“Direct-to-consumer (D2C) brands are uniquely positioned to capitalise on India’s retail sector, which is set to cross $2.2 trillion by 2030, leveraging omnichannel strategies. We are excited to partner with Newme on its journey to a leader in the fashion-tech industry in India,” said Anand Daniel, partner at Accel.

Earlier this year, Newme secured Rs 45 crore in seed funding from Fireside Ventures, AUM Ventures, 2 AM Ventures, and Allin Capital. These early investments laid the groundwork for Newme's rapid growth and helped the company establish a strong foothold in the competitive fashion market.

Founded in 2022 by Sumit Jasoria, Vinod Naik, Shivam Tripathi, and Himanshu Chaudhary, Newme has rapidly emerged as a key player in the fashion-tech sector, targeting more than 500 million Gen Z customers in India and Southeast Asia. The brand's innovative approach combines cutting-edge technology with contemporary fashion, appealing to the digital-savvy youth demographic.

Currently, the online-first brand operates six stores across five cities. However, Newme has ambitious expansion plans. In the next 12-18 months, the company aims to open 40-50 stores across 20 cities, including regions like Guwahati, Shillong, and Imphal. This expansion will not only increase the brand's physical presence but also enhance its ability to connect with a wider audience.

We're addressing a critical health and environmental issue while simultaneously elevating the tea-drinking experience. This launch notably exemplifies our belief that exceptional quality, responsible production, and environmental stewardship can and must coexist in perfect harmony.
