Restaurateurs Twinkle Keswani, Rohan D'Souza Launches 'The Backwaters, Kochi'

Nestled within the vibrant suburban island-village of Panangad, Kochi, lies "The Backwaters," a culinary haven offering a unique blend of global flavors and rustic Kerala cuisine that promises an immersive dining experience set amidst the tranquil waters and vibrant local culture.

The Backwaters, situated in an open-air, waterfront location, seamlessly integrates with its natural surroundings to highlight its waterside ambiance. 

The concept of ‘sea to table’ comes live here as they offer customers to catch their own fish.  Paddle gently through the serene waters, taking in the breathtaking scenery that surrounds you by indulging in Kayaking or just sailing through the seamless waterbed. One can also experience dining in a traditional rice boat that will allow them to get the best of culinary experience and the adventure world. For a wonderful quiet afternoon you can also opt to read under the trees or paddle your way through the village on a bicycle. 

Along with these adventures, indulge in a culinary treat with a menu that is carefully curated by Chef Rohan D’Souza. The menu, a delightful collaboration between Chef Rohan D'Souza and local village chefs, offers an exquisite array of starters, main courses, and desserts. Highlighting Kerala's culinary heritage are dishes like Chicken Pathiri, Kozhuva Fry, and Meen Chatti Curry, featuring locally sourced ingredients cooked with traditional expertise.

The space is Owned by OC Thomas & Anuja Thomas of Rainforest Luxury Resort Athirapally & Olam On The Lake, Kochi, in collaboration with restaurateur Twinkle Keswani and renowned Chef Rohan D'Souza.  It spans across 21,750 sq ft, offering a garden seating area by the water's edge, providing a serene and spacious environment for patrons to immerse themselves in the beauty of the locale. The design philosophy prioritizes simplicity and the use of natural materials, ensuring that the surroundings remain the focal point.
