Amidst the world going gaga over emojis and companies like Apple, Google and Microsoft building their own emoji libraries for phone users to play with, #Emoji has taken the digital world by storm. Banking on this craze, the Emoji Company who is the owner of the registered emoji ® trademark and owner of more than 450 trademarks globally, has rolled out an extensive range of official emoji merchandise in India. The Emoji Company that is being represented in India by Mumbai based agency Black White Orange, has signed licensing and merchandising deals in categories including apparel, plush toys, accessories, back to school and FMCG more. ​“Emoji has always been at the forefront of creatively expressing one’s emotions through its world class designs and this can be seen across all our emoji consumer products. The USP of the Emoji brand is that it resonates beautifully with consumers, regardless of their age and gender. Even for future partnerships, our aim is to build sustainability & authenticity of the emoji brand with quality products,” said Bhavik Vora, Founder & CEO, Black White Orange Brands. My Baby Excel, Status Quo, and Safari Bags are few of the licensees for Emoji merchandise. The merchandise line is available at all major retail stores and eCommerce platforms across India. According to Vora, the brand is expecting revenue of approx Rs 25-30 crore through the retail sales of emoji licensed merchandise. Bioworld owned Voxpop had launched a soccer special Emoji apparel collection, while Status Quo is launching a lifestyle apparel collection. Plush toy mogul My Baby Excel launched a plush collection for the brand, while Safari has come up with a collection of school bags. Other licensees include inkflapstore.com for limited edition Notebooks, Reliable rainwear for rain gears and GRV Creations for chocolates. With the immensely strong affinity for Emojis, and the internet going emoji mad, merchandise line will be clock in a strong revenue stream for the brand that resonates with anyone who is mobile device aware.
