Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Canada Goose Holdings and Gap have both committed to start production of medical gear for healthcare workers.
Canada Goose, known for its luxury parkas, will be making patient gowns and scrubs in order to aid in the battle against the pandemic. The company will distribute them to local hospitals, free of cost, within a week.
The production of patient gowns and scrubs will be starting in two of its Toronto plants and in Winnipeg for manufacturing 10,000 units. Canada Goose will utilize 50 employees to complete the production.
To aid the COVID-19 pandemic relief, Gap will pivot resources to manufacture masks, scrubs and gowns for healthcare workers. The US retailer will connect its vendors with hospitals in California to supply personal protective equipment.
