Funko, a pop-culture lifestyle brand, has announced the launch of its new collectible line, Project Fred. The new collection marks Funko’s initial concentrated venture into the world of premium collectibles. Based on the food mascot, Project Fred 01 – Bob’s Big Boy is a homage to Funko’s first product, the Bob’s Big Boy Wacky Wobbler.

The 11-inch-tall Project Fred 01 – Bob’s Big Boy showcases Freddy, Funko’s mascot. Only 750 of this hard vinyl item will be produced for this release, with 75 of the figures being a variant of Freddy in an alternate Bob’s Big Boy outfit. Each figure comes encased in matte packaging, accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity.

“As we look beyond our 25th anniversary, we’re revisiting where it all started with our first Wacky Wobbler by bringing Bob’s Big Boy and Funko together again for Project Fred,” says Mike Becker, senior vice president, creative and entertainment, Funko.

To commemorate the launch, Funko, in collaboration with Bob’s Big Boy, hosted an event at the historic Bob’s Big Boy location in Burbank with a restaurant takeover. The first 150 guests on both days received a limited-edition pin.

Future Project Fred releases will be disclosed in due course.
