Flipkart inks brand licensing deal with Nokia to launch Nokia Smart TV in India

In order to launch Nokia Smart TV in India, Flipkart has signed a special brand licensing arrangement with the company. The Smart TV will bring with it JBL audio technology paired with 24 Watt speakers.

Powered by the Android 9.0 TV operating system, the TV has a 55-inch 4K UHD display.

The e-commerce company is commending the audio quality of the TV and is talking about it as the main feature of it. Besides this, the smart TV includes a quad-core processor and 16GB of onboard storage.

Flipkart said, “The first-ever Nokia branded Smart TV with Sound by JBL is powered by 24 Watt built-in speakers, DTS TruSurround and Dolby Audio to enhance the overall audio experience at home. This feature addresses a major pain point among Indian consumers, many of whom except a better sound quality from their televisions today.”

Price and availability of Nokia Smart TV

Flipkart has licensed the Nokia brand name for TVs in India. It has announced that the smart TV will be priced at Rs 41,999. However, the company will offer a 10% discount on prepaid transactions as well as Complete TV Protection coverage, which includes three years warranty against manufacturing defects and accidental damages at just Rs 999 along with the TV. 

The smart TV will be available from December 10 through Flipkart’s website. The e-commerce giant also announced that the Nokia Smart TV will get a bundled stand as well as a wall mount and a Bluetooth remote that supports Google Assistant for voice input.

Nokia Smart TV features

The Smart TV comes with a 55-inch display capable of up to 4K UHD resolutions. The TV has a maximum rated brightness of 400 nits. It also supports Dolby Vision support, MEMC, and Intelligent Dimming feature for an enhanced visual experience.

The TV has three HDMI ports on the device, two USB (2.0 and 3.0) ports, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. It comes running a quad-core processor paired with 2.25GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage.
