Narendra Modi, the prime ministerial candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has been commercialised with the launch of an online store NaMo Store. Modi, is popularly referred to as NaMo by his supporters This store offers a range of merchandise including T-shirts, sleeveless jackets and stationery inspired by the lifestyle and values of Narendra Modi. The products in this range are priced between Rs 15 and 450. “The products will inspire people to wear a cause, embrace the change and be the creator of a better tomorrow,” a statement on this site highlights. And, started by Take India Beyond Merchandising, this online store is a collaborative effort of a group of volunteers, this website points out. Apart from the online format, plans are also afoot to launch brick and mortar stores in various cities of India, starting from Ahmedabad.
