NBA preps for its debut in India with BookMyShow

NBA ties up with BookMyShow ahead of its debut event in the country to facilitate marketing and promotion of the games. This event comes after the establishment of India on Track initiative by NBA in 2012. The matches will be between Sacramento Kings and Indiana Pacers on 4th and 5th October at NSCI Dome in Mumbai. These matches are prelude to 74th season of NBA, which will kickstart in October and end in April 2020. Speaking on the occasion Albert Almeida, Chief Operating Officer- Live Entertainment, BookMyShow said, “It’s a strategic partnership with NBA which will bring an international league’s pre-match to India for the first time. The game will be played in India and will be telecasted live in 200 other countries. We are putting together various packages which will be bundled with and without food and beverages ensuring a carnival like experience for the fans.” The world renowned basketball league NBA is focused on tapping basketball’s potential in the country and has been working towards creating a platform for the basketball heads to achieve overall sporting excellence in India. "Our inaugural NBA India Games will help further untap the enormous basketball potential in a country with a thriving sports culture and a growing, young and engaged population. We thank the Kings and Pacers organisations for participating in this historic event," NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said. NBA has secured its presence in 215 countries and territories in 49 languages. Their roaster for 2016-17 season boasted 113 international players from 41 countries and territories.
