The international preschool property, Peppa Pig has debuted in Indian markets, courtesy entertainment conglomerate Viacom18. Initially being experienced digitally on VOOT (the digital streaming platform by Viacom18), Peppa Pig will now also be available in stores and on- air. Entertainment One (eOne) has appointed the merchandising and licensing arm of Viacom18 as the licensing partner for Peppa Pig in India. The show has been rapidly gaining popularity amongst preschoolers in India following its digital debut on VOOT in June 2016. Followed by its success on digital platform, Viacom18 will soon debut the show on kids’ television network Nickelodeon’s preschool channel Nick Jr. As the representative of the Peppa Pig brand across India and the Indian subcontinent, Viacom18 Consumer Products has recently rolled out the first line of Peppa Pig merchandise. the line includes plush toys, activity sets and much more. The products are available across all Hamleys Toy Stores in India and various other leading retail outlets, including eCommerce sites such as Amazon.
