Betting big on the intensifying Smartphone market, Polaroid – the brand known for its cameras, has announced its plans to enter the smartphone segment in a big way. Already there are some Polaroid branded entry-level Android smartphones available in the market, which were launched few years ago. At CES 2106, the company has announced the upcoming availability of another mid-range Android smartphone called Power. Loaded with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system, the Polaroid Power comes with a huge 6-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display supporting full HD resolution. Soon after the launch, an Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade will be available for download, confirmed Polaroid. Polaroid Power is powered by a 64-bit octa-core processor, coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory that can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot. Power hasa 13-megapixel primary camera with autofocus, dual-LED flash, and 8-megapixel secondary camera. Connectivity-wise, Polaroid Power offers 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS with AGPS support. Polaroid Power is powered by 3,000 mAh battery and will be available in Platinum color. Customers will be able to buy this from spring for around $250 outright. “We’re expanding our unlocked smartphone line with a focus on enhanced camera capabilities, upgraded features and providing even more choices for consumers to customize their mobile lifestyles,” said Polaroid President and CEO, Scott W. Hardy. “Our new smartphone line complements a family of Polaroid products that embody what the brand is most well-known for; offering consumers fun and affordable ways to instantly capture and share memories with their friends and family,” he further added.
