Under Armour Expands Product Portfolio, Unveils UA HOVR Phantom 3

Under Armour has introduced the all-new UA HOVR Phantom 3: a neutral, responsive running shoe designed for specialty athletes training to compete — those who would do anything to improve in the offseason so they may perform at their best in season. Fully tested and validated by Under Armour Athletes, the UA HOVR Phantom 3 maintains the Phantom’s reputation as UA’s most versatile running shoe. It delivers the speed and propulsion that athletes demand from a performance running shoe while maintaining the comfort and stability needed from a training shoe.

In developing the UA HOVR Phantom 3, Under Armour’s footwear design team analyzed the demands of the sport-driven athlete who is hitting the pavement through short runs and intervals as part of a comprehensive training regimen. The HOVR Phantom 3 seamlessly transitions from treadmill to gym, making it a must-have for athletes who run for sport.

Throughout research and development, the UA design team worked in lockstep with hundreds of athletes across different specialties who run as a means to improve their overall game. In gathering insights, it became evident that running is often the secret weapon within their training arsenal. Those running in the off-season were simply raising the bar for their competition.

Across the board, athletes who run for sport spend a lot of time in the gym but were also looking for a one-stop footwear solution that was still 100 percent runnable. Running, although just one facet of the training plan, is a critical component. The Phantom 3 was thoughtfully and skillfully crafted to possess the qualities that enable snappy sprints and intervals or shorter distance runs with the stability and comfort to transition back to the weight room and plyos.

The UA HOVR Phantom 3 is the latest evolution of the Phantom franchise since the Phantom 2 launched in July 2020. The designers at UA identified ways to maintain what people loved about the Phantom 2 while using innovation and thoughtful decision-making to make improvements to the shoe.

The UA HOVR Phantom 3 offers move HOVR, more breathability, and improved fit when compared to its predecessor. The implementation of the latest evolution of HOVR midsole technology now runs the full length of the midsole in the Phantom 3, meaning a plush feeling underfoot without compromising on propulsion thanks to the now full-length HOVR midsole technology. 

The soft, high-performance and highly textured UA Intelliknit upper improves breathability through its unbelievable stretch and targeted flex. A new, secure heel counter combined with pillowy but firm panels delivers sturdy, foot-hugging support. Finally, molded detailing in the midfoot and lower contour around the ankle not only improve fit but offer stability and ease of entry benefits. The Men's and Women's UA HOVR Phantom 3 is available in multiple colorways at all Under Armour retail stores.
