Get ready to spell your way to victory because it's time to party with words! Hasbro India, a leading toy and game company, has teamed up with New York Times Games to introduce Wordle: The Party Game, bringing the beloved digital word game to your tabletop. This brand-new board game offers the classic Wordle experience but with a twist that makes it perfect for game nights with friends and family. You can now enjoy Wordle: The Party Game, available on e-commerce platforms and in toy stores near you, at an MRP of Rs 2,499.
Wordle: The Party Game stays true to the gameplay adored by fans but adds a real-life competitive element. In each round, a designated Wordle Host writes down a Secret Word, and just like in the original Wordle, players have six tries to guess a five-letter word. However, in this version, players are pitted against each other. The fewer attempts a player needs to guess the word, the fewer points they score. The player with the lowest points at the game's end emerges as the victor! What's more, Wordle: The Party Game can be replayed using the included dry-erase Wordle boards and markers. Players can also mix things up with four different ways to play: classic, fast, timed, or in teams. Wordle: The Party Game promises hours of fun and is suitable for ages 14 and up.
Lalit Parmar, Country Manager at Hasbro India said, "We are thrilled to add Wordle: The Party Game to the Hasbro Gaming lineup in India. In this fresh format of a beloved game, friends and family can engage in competitive wordplay and create lasting memories. We can't wait for young fans in India to embrace it."
Jonathan Knight, head of Games for The New York Times, commented, "Wordle has truly brought people together, and that's what makes it so special. With each daily puzzle, we're connected with friends and family through social play. At New York Times Games, we're committed to crafting high-quality puzzles that everyone can enjoy together, which is why we're excited to partner with Hasbro to introduce a new twist to the global sensation of Wordle."
Since its public release in October 2021 by Josh Wardle, Wordle has skyrocketed in popularity, becoming a daily obsession for word enthusiasts. The Times Company acquired the game in early 2022, and it continues to captivate and delight millions of daily players worldwide. Wordle has become a cultural phenomenon, not only sparking conversations but also fueling our collective imagination.
Wordle is the latest addition to The Times's portfolio of engaging word and logic games, with a legacy dating back to the launch of The Crossword in 1942. In 2014, The Times introduced The Mini Crossword, followed by Spelling Bee, Letter Boxed, Tiles, and Vertex, offering puzzles for all skill levels, ensuring everyone can enjoy playing daily.
