Indri, a beloved single malt brand renowned for its award-winning India’s first triple cask single malt whisky, has unveiled an exciting collaboration with Fort City Brewing, a leading innovator in the craft beer industry. Together, these two trend-defining teams have introduced a meticulously handcrafted selection of beers matured in Indri casks, promising a unique experience for aficionados.
The collaboration, aptly named the ‘Barrel Aged Beer Program,’ merges Indri's legacy of crafting premium spirits with Fort City Brewing's expertise in creating innovative brews. Each beer in this exclusive collaboration is carefully crafted to showcase the distinctive characteristics and quality synonymous with both brands.
Fort City's Imperial Stout and Jaggernaut, the Indian interpretation of Belgian Dubbel, were chosen to undergo maturation in ex-Indri and ex-Camikara barrels, respectively. These selections were made to enhance the flavor profiles of the beers, resulting in a harmonious blend of oak, coffee, raisin, and other dry fruit characters.
"We are thrilled to partner with Piccadily Distilleries for our first ever ‘Barrel Aged Beer Program’. This collaboration represents a meeting of minds and a celebration of craftsmanship, resulting in beers that will captivate the palates of beer and whisky enthusiasts," said Gautham Gandhi and Ashish Ranjan, Co-Founders of Fort City Brewing.
Shalini Sharma, Head of Marketing, Piccadily Distilleries said, “Being a homegrown brand, we are immensely proud to partner with the passionate team behind Fort City Brewing for India’s first ever barrel exchange program between a distillery and a craft brewery. Our collaboration not only shows our commitment to push the boundaries in the Indian single malt industry, but to go beyond and offer an unparalleled experience to our discerning audience, beyond expectations.”
Fort City Brewing's dedication to innovation perfectly complements Indri Single Malt Whisky's pursuit of excellence, resulting in a collection of beers that embody India's rich heritage while showcasing unparalleled craftsmanship. One of the highlights of the collaboration is Dhumri: Indri x Fort City Imperial Stout, aged in ex-Indian Single Malt Whisky barrels. This beer offers a symphony of flavors, with notes of oak, vanilla, coffee, dry fruits, and spices, creating a complex and delightful drinking experience.
Another offering, Mridya: Camikara x Fort City, is a Belgian Dubbel aged in ex-rum barrels, set to be released soon. This beer boasts profound notes of toasted oak, caramel, plum, raisins, and dark fruits, culminating in a sweet finish with a medium to full body. The collaboration between Indri and Fort City Brewing exemplifies the artistry and innovation driving the craft beer industry in India, promising exciting experiences for beer enthusiasts across the country.
