Rovio Entertainment, the parent company of "Angry Birds," has collaborated with the educational gaming platform Legends of Learning to introduce the popular media franchise into the realm of education. Facilitated by IMG, the global licensing agency for "Angry Birds," this partnership aims to develop a series of educational games that utilize the beloved characters and settings from the Angry Birds franchise. Through player-focused gaming experiences, interactive gameplay, and hands-on problem-solving, these games have been designed to assist students in comprehending crucial STEM concepts, encompassing collisions, forces, and angle measurement.
Hanna Valkeapää-Nokkala, Head of Brand Licensing at Rovio said, "We eagerly anticipate bringing the flock to classrooms across the United States by teaming up with Legends of Learning. Rovio's mission is to create joy, and we firmly believe that Legends of Learning's game-based education platform is an excellent means of infusing joy into education. We are excited to witness how their network of independent game developers will employ Angry Birds to infuse learning with fun."
The educational games will be accessible on the Legends of Learning platform, which boasts thousands of curriculum-aligned math and science games that make classrooms engaging and productive learning environments through research-driven game-based learning.
Vadim Polikov, CEO and Co-Founder of Legends of Learning stated, "We are thrilled to collaborate with Rovio and the 'Angry Birds' brand. The combination of this iconic brand with the academic rigor and student engagement that teachers rely on from Legends of Learning is poised to be revolutionary. Students are bound to embrace it, and extensive research studies have consistently demonstrated that increased test scores follow when students engage in rigorous game-based learning."
The educational "Angry Birds" games are scheduled for release on Legends of Learning in the upcoming fall.
