Spotify Drafts Licensing Agreement for Rotana's Full Catalogue

Over 10,000 Arabic songs have been added to Spotify after the company signed a licensing agreement with Saudi Arabia’s music production label Rotana this month.

"We are incredibly proud to announce our partnership with Rotana which will allow us to expand our Arabic music library tremendously as we enter 2023," Spotify’s MENA Head of Music Mark Abou Jaoude said.

Rotana’s catalog includes dozens of albums by some of the most famous Arab stars like Tamer Hosny, Elissa, Bahaa Sultan, Mohammed Abdu, Abdul-Majeed Abdullah, and many others.

"We are excited to see Arabic music continue to grow under our partnership with Rotana," he added.

Spotify has launched a playlist titled ‘This is Rotana’ to be home to some of the most popular songs by the label. Rotana is a leading Arabic media, entertainment, events, and content producer and distributor in the MENA region.
